Tell us a little about your book. My book “Growth: My Journey Of Spiritual Growth To Emotional Healing and Forgiveness is about the emotional pain and hurt I endured because of experiencing childlessness for almost eight years of marriage. In the book I talk about how I had to begin to pray, fast, and read scriptures to build a closer relationship with God before I had my breakthough of being blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby girl named Aniya. I also discuss in detail the importance of forgiveness in order to heal emotionally. Included in the book are powerful effective prayers, scriptures, and positive affirmations.

If there was one message that you would hope a reader takes away from your book(s), what would it be, and why?

To forgive others and to move forward with your life. God wants us to forgive others just as he has forgiven us. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote? I wrote a lot of poems and poetry in the past. However, my first published story was “My Journey Of Spiritual Growth To Motherhood” written in the Pain 2 Passion: Our Valley Experience book. I told about my experiences before becoming a mother and the emotional pain I endured from those who should have shown me love. Through it all I learned to heal emotionally by forgiving those individuals who had hurt me. My journey was not easy but I overcame my struggles as God fulfilled his promise when I became a mother in 2014.

When you are not writing, how do you spend your time? First, I love spending time with God in prayer and reading my Bible. Also, I love spending time with my daughter who inspires me everyday to persevere no matter what is happening in my life. Everyday that I look in her eyes it reminds me to keep pushing and moving forward to do better things to accomplish my goals.

When did you first start writing? I started writing poems and poetry back in high school and college. After graduation from college I began working full-time so I stopped writing for many years until December 2015 when I saw on Facebook, they were looking for authors to write their stories in an anthology book called Pain 2 Passion: Our Valley Experience. Well, I wrote my story in the book as a co-author and my passion for writing came back alive. Since then I have self-published two books and wrote as a co-author in two books.

What words of encouragement would you say to others who may want to become an author? Just start writing while putting your ideas together. Stay focused on the topic that you want to write a book about as an author. Stay encouraged. Keep writing.

What motivated you to become an author? Do you have any upcoming events that you would like to share?

I would say God led me to it at the right time to see where they needed authors on Facebook to write and tell their stories in Pain 2 Passion. I think this motivated me to go back to my passion and love for writing. It has blessed me to walk into my God-given purpose and destiny. Authentically You Magazine
