The predator vs prey instinct we see in the animal world is natural, instinctive, an inherited behaviour. The chase between the dog and the bird is a game, it’s about the thrill of the chase, the predator showing the prey who’s boss. In Feather and Hound Gin we’ve taken that story further and not only tracked down the best ingredients but captured them all in a superb London Dry Gin.

The origins of the term ‘London Dry Gin’ came from the 1800s. Historically, gin was often produced quite crudely and had to have many sweeteners added to render it palatable. Once the gin industry became quality monitored, a consistent, drier style gin was produced, typically from the London area. This dry gin became known as London Dry Gin. Today, London Dry Gin can be produced anywhere, however, to be classed as such, must be distilled with the full flavour profile achieved in the distillation process with nothing further added to enhance flavour later on. London Dry Gin can have many flavour profiles as long as it is produced according to the correct production method.
