Lot 10 Lot 7 7. Uzbek suzani, Uzbekistan, last quarter 20th century, 94in. x 76in. 239cm. x 193cm. Undyed cotton ground embroidered in vibrant coloured silks worked principally in basma stitch with traditional ‘suzani’ motifs of flowers, foliage, medallions and boteh motifs. Unlined. £150-250 (+18% BP*)

10. Ottoman red velvet bokche, Turkey, 19th century, 49in. 1.25m. square, embroidered in silk and metal thread with flowers and foliage within a floral main border. Hanging loops to one edge. Velvet worn away. Unlined. £100-150 (+18% BP*)

13. Uzbek Lakhai Ilgitch (ceremonial embroidery), Uzbekistan, first quarter 20th century, 33in. x 29in. 84cm. x 74cm. Red wool ground embroidered in coloured silk and wool with a central flowerhead surrounded by large boteh and cone-shaped motifs within a border of individual boteh and running dog and arrowhead guards. Printed cotton lining and with multi-coloured fringing to all sides. £300-400 (+18% BP*)

8. Two Ottoman satin panels, Turkey, early 20th century. Each embroidered in gold and silver coloured metal threads with metal thread lace edging, the first, very pale blue satin with pale yellow centre, 47in. x 12in. 119cm. x 30cm.; the second, pale yellow satin with pale blue centre, 35in. x 13in. 89cm. x 33cm. Both with shattering to satin grounds. Both with fine cotton lining. (2) £100-150 (+18% BP*)

Two Ottoman bokche, Turkey, early 20th century, the first, 23in. x 20in. 58cm. x 51cm. embroidered in silk and metal thread with a Sultan’s tugra in the centre with metal thread lacework corners and an embroidered border of inscriptions. The second, 21in. x 19in. 53cm. x 48cm. Embroidered in gold and silver coloured metal threads. Time stains to both. (2) £100-150 (+18% BP*)

9. Two Ottoman pieces, both early 20th century, the first a Turkish towel, 50in. x 16in. 127cm. x 41cm. The fine linen ground embroidered at each end in brightly coloured wools with metal thread details, two flowering plants emanating from two small blue vases each end. Time stains. The second a bokche, 35in. x 20in. 89cm. x 51in. The fine linen ground embroidered in gold and silver metal threads with flowers and foliage. Time stains. (2) £100-150 (+18% BP*)

12. Greek Island embroidery fragment, probably 19th century, three similar pieces now joined together, 30in. x 18in. overall 76cm. x 46cm. overall. Worn and the three pieces joined together. Undyed linen ground embroidered in red and yellow silk with occasional use of blue, the centre panel with metal thread embroidered centre panel and border. £100-150 (+18% BP*)
