I am an authorised landscape architect based and registered in Slovakia, currently working as associate professor and head of the Institute of Landscape Architecture at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. I studied landscape architecture and planning in Slovakia (SPU Nitra, graduated in 2012) and Austria (BOKU Wien, TU Wien). I have been practicing landscape architecture as freelancer since 2012 and as authorised landscape architect since 2022 (Slovak Chamber of Architects), with a focus on designing public open spaces. I have been doing research in landscape architecture since 2012 in Slovakia, Austria, Germany, New Zealand, and Spain, with a focus on green infrastructure, urban agriculture, cultural landscapes, and research by design. I hold PhD (SPU Nitra, 2015) and habilitation / venia docendi (SPU Nitra, 2020) in landscape architecture (dissertation on green infrastructure in rural landscapes, habilitation on green infrastructure in landscape planning and design). I have been teaching landscape architecture since 2012, mainly as head of design studios, applying research-led teaching and project-based learning. I am chair of the LE:NOTRE Institute, delegate in the European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools (ECLAS) and in the European Chapter of International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA Europe). I am member of the Council for Landscape Architects at the Slovak Chamber of Architects.
