Hobo: It’s kind of like the Capture the Plague days where we had, like, six songs in three years? [laughter] and a countless number of covers that I never learned. Erin: Heh. It happens. So, who are you influenced by? I listened to one of your tracks on Facebook and it reminded me of Dead Kennedys. Not that I’ve honestly listened to much of them. I have Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death and that’s about it. Immy: That’s definitely in there. We’ve got a lot of punk bands. I think lately, for him and me, it’s been a lot of Ty Segall and White Stripes and Jay Reatard. There are a lot of garage-rock bands that have been coming out lately – they’re really awesome. And, not directly influenced, but they’ve influenced us a lot lately, there’s been a lot of black metal… I don’t know what that’s about. We’ve listened to a lot of Code Orange Kids lately… We’ve tried to incorporate the ridiculousness of their live shows into something we do, I guess, so we’re kind of all over the place. A lot of folk stuff and things here and there. Tom Waits is a huge influence. Anything lo-fi, recorded on tape recorders… Chode Rodeo is probably a big influence for us. Erin: So I’m assuming you guys are fairly local, right? Both Aberdeen boys? Hobo: Nay, for both of us, actually. I’m from Minnesota. I moved here six, seven years ago and I’ve just been playing in bands here. Immy: And I’m from Pennsylvania, so I migrated here for the lovely weather and great scenery [laughter], and the lack of road

construction [more laughter]. But yeah, I’ve been here almost two years now. Erin: So are you guys planning to make music your career, or are you just in it for the kicks and giggles of it? Hobo: I’ve been playing music for about ten years, so I can’t not play music. Immy: I think the last few bands that both of us were in, we tried to do a lot, and we quit because we got really burned out on it. In this one, we don’t really have any major aspirations except to record as much as possible and to have as much fun as possible. So, pretty

much everything we’ve done so far, we’re doing ourselves. Recording it ourselves, we’re going to make sure it’s ourselves, all that kind of stuff. A lot of DIY-type stuff in the future: floppy disk releases, that sort of fun stuff. But yeah, not so much. If it turns out to be a career it’s not going to really matter, but we’re not really striving for that. We’re just striving to have as much fun as we can.

Erin: So, where does the magic happen? Immy: The magic happens – Hobo: – in his basement. Just two sweaty dudes and a VHS camera on a tripod.
