Annual Stock the Pantry Cornhole Tournament By Thomas Ellis

T

he Boys & Girls Club of Evansville presents the 4th Annual Stock the Pantry Cornhole Tournament on August 17th at the Tropicana Events Plaza / Tropicana Evansville (formerly Casino Aztar). The tournament is the primary funding source for the Stock the Pantry Program which serves to provide members of the Boys & Girls Club with healthy snacks after school and during the summer. Of all the cornhole events in the area, this is the biggest. The tournament begins at 11 a.m. with check-in and late registration from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In addition, a bierstube featuring three live bands begins at 6 p.m. Team registration for the event is $55; additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will be awarded. Since 1957, the Boys & Girl Club has provided programming and services for the most at-risk boys and girls in the community. Currently, there are two main clubs located at 700 Bellemeade Ave. and 1328 Dresden St. and two extensions at Evans School and Cedar Hall School. These four sites serve over 2,000 of the area’s youth. In addition, the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville reaches another 4,000 young people through the SMART Moves Program sponsored by Vectren.

To register for the event or to become a sponsor, visit stockthepantrycornhole.com. For more information, please call the Boys & Girls Club at 812-425-2311.
