ELEVATE YOUR COMPANY WITH CEDIA’S MEMBER OF EXCELLENCE

Belonging to CEDIA connects businesses to a powerful global network of home technology professionals. However, as the industry continues to grow at a rapid rate, we recognise that it’s important for CEDIA members to be able to elevate their profile in the market.

The CEDIA Member of Excellence Program offers companies a valuable pathway to distinction in the industry, with the opportunity for recognition, firstly, as a CEDIA Advanced Member before progression to full Member of Excellence status.

To be a CEDIA Advanced Member means demonstrating a proven commitment to continuing education, customer service and community outreach. It also unlocks access to a range of exclusive marketing tools that companies can use in their promotion.

“We achieved CEDIA Advanced Member status around six months ago,” says Luke Crutcher from Living Home Tech. “Achieving this accreditation is an important validation for the way we run our business, how we invest in training and for the culture we have built at Living Home Tech. We actively use the badge in our sales and promotion to help set ourselves apart from other companies. We see it as a stepping-stone as we progress towards Member of Excellence.”

CEDIA Member of Excellence status is only available to CEDIA Advanced Members with a record of award-winning craftsmanship and a dedication to advanced industry certifications.

“We’ve achieved many things in our time as a CEDIA member,” comments Owen Maddock at Cinemaworks, a CEDIA Member of Excellence. “We engaged in the volunteer programme to create the Home Cinema and Media Rooms CPD, serve on the CPD task force and have won a CEDIA Smart Home Award for our work. We also carry all the advanced certifications: Designer, Networking Specialist and Technician. The Member of Excellence designation lets us show off these achievements in a simple and easy-to-digest format. It’s also great to have impartial, independent confirmation that we really are very good at this.”

He adds, “An obvious marketing benefit is that we’re at the top of the list in the CEDIA finder service in any geographical search we’re relevant for. That means more enquiries for us, and we can point directly to jobs that we’ve won as a result.”

New Wave AV is another CEDIA Member of Excellence who can point to the benefits of the program.

“The south-east of the UK is a very competitive market for professional integrators,” comments New Wave AV’s, Angus Murray. “As a CEDIA Member of Excellence, we stand out to prospective clients as well as to potential employees who want to work for companies at the top of the industry. At the same time, other industry professionals, including architects and interior designers, clearly respect what the credential means and what it says about our business. It gives them confidence in our quality and in our processes. They want partners who have the same high standards that they do.”

The CEDIA Member of Excellence selection process involves rigorous verification of member companies’ qualifications in areas, including:

• The company ensures continued customer service by providing three client or customer references from three projects within the last 12 months and two references from CEDIA Trade Supplier Members.

• The company must demonstrate engagement by having either one CEDIA volunteer or at least one CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI) on staff.

• A percentage (based on size) of each company’s full-time technical staff must hold at least one CEDIA advanced certification — IST, ESC-D, or ESC-N Certification (does not include ESC or CIT).

• The company has demonstrated exceptional quality by being a finalist/shortlisted or a CEDIA Smart Home Award winner within the last three years.
