Education

Lebanon County is home to an impressive, fouryear liberal arts college in Annville (Lebanon Valley College) and also home to a vitally important community college (Harrisburg Area Community College – Central Pennsylvania’s Community College). In addition, the county is home to two theological seminaries (one in Myerstown and one in Grantville), a highly-regarded career and technology center, several private high schools, and six public school districts.

Lebanon Valley College

Consistently named to “US News & World Report’s” “America’s Best Colleges” list under the “Regional College (North)” and “Best Value School” categories, Lebanon Valley College offers over 35 fields of study, as well as graduate and doctoral programs. LVC is a member of NCAA Division III, competing in the MAC Commonwealth Conference. It also plays ice hockey in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West conference.

HACC – Central Pennsylvania’s Community College

HACC’s impressive urban-setting campus in downtown Lebanon was part of HACC’s outreach initiatives in the late 1980s when HACC’s president and its board of trustees decided to expand their services and build new campuses in several of the key communities of Central Pennsylvania – Lebanon, Gettysburg, and Lancaster. Now more than 20 years in the making, HACC’s efforts to expand educational opportunities through its branch campuses, including a campus in York, have been extremely successful. Thanks to a virtual learning partnership, HACC’s students experience 21st century technology while earning degrees, attending workforce training, and also transferring to earn bachelor’s degrees at dozens of colleges and universities in Pennsylvania.
