• Bidtellect—One of our favorite entrepreneurs is John Ferber, whose energy, humor and passion for business makes you a firm believer in American ingenuity. The co-founder of Advertising.com is working on a second big company, Bidtellect is an online platform through which advertisers bid in real-time for native ad spots. The company was founded in 2010 as a domain name brokerage called Domain Holdings Group . The company recently adopted its new moniker, Bidtellect, to reflect is expanding online advertising niche and is killing it. Stay tuned. • Delray Downtowner—Stephen Murray and his partners have turned the Downtowner into a part of the local fabric with attractive golf carts ferrying visitors and locals all around the downtown. We hear they plan to scale their business to other cool downtown, but they’ll always be a Delray business and success story.
• Wild Angel Films—Tamara Rabil is passionate about films and filmmakers. Her production company Wild Angel Films specializes in stories about the parenting journey. She has recently opened shop in downtown Delray and has big plans for our city relative to film. • Freedom Steel—This fast growing company with international reach is led by Sean Hackner, recently named to the Delray Chamber Board. Freedom Steel Buildings, the industry leader in storage buildings, currently manufactures steel buildings, metal buildings, storage buildings, horse barns, horse riding arenas, steel framing, steel construction, metal storage building, aircraft hangers, farm building and mini-storage buildings. All of this from a Delray location. • Gelato Petrini—Chef Mauro Petrini has quietly built a gelato empire on Southwest 4th Avenue. Gelato Petrini distributes to retailers in Florida, Ohio, Nevada, New York and California. Specialties include sugar free flavors, gluten free gelato and ge-
lato with antioxidants. • Delivery Dudes—Delray is a foodie city and Delivery Dudes came up with an innovative business model to deliver hot food from local restaurants right to your door or business. In 2009, founder, Jayson Koss, was sitting around with some friends wishing he could get some food delivered that wasn’t the usual cheap noodle Chinese or cardboard crust pizza. From this want, Delivery Dudes was born and has been turning mealtime frowns upside down ever since. The service is now available in a slew of Florida cities with more on tap. • Saltwater Brewery—Craft beer is an explosive category. The recent Great American Beer Festival in Denver featured over 3,500 brewers. Delray is in the game with Saltwater Brewery, a rapidly growing brand with a popular headquarters on West Atlantic Avenue. There are more, many more entrepreneurs we will feature in future editions. But this will give you a taste of some of the city’s new innovators and the work they are doing.
