Interview with Damar Jackson How would you describe your musical style to someone who hasn’t listened to any of your music and why should they listen to your music? My music is raw, real life and classic. They should listen because I’m a real artist telling my real story and really producing and writing my music. Can you tell us about an experience during the making of a track that had great chemistry from the production stage to the finally end result? (Dealing with producers, audio engineers etc.) Me and my bro Big Fruit created a sound over the years, so while creating Club Again, it just came together so fast. After Big Fruit said the first line “How TF you let another n**** see you naked?” I wrote the verses and it was up!! Music is a moment and you need other greats in the room to help come out. Are there any new projects in the works or just released that you would like to share with us? Definitely my EP “Unfaithful” and I’m already working on my album.
What do you hope for the future of music? Growth and for artists to start caring about the fans more and really turning up with their artistry. Who would you say is an idol you look up to in music and why? I don’t look up to anybody but I’m inspired by all the greats like MJ, 2 PAC, Biggie, Duffy, Kanye, Ryan Leslie, Static Major, Kirk Franklin, T Pain, Lil Wayne, and more. How would you define the current state of the music industry (mainstream, independent/internet released music) and what kind of impact has it had on you? I love the current state of the music industry. It’s not for everybody and each part of the game is creating the culture; internet, main stream and independent.
