Worker sourcing and supply

ACCESSING WORKERS

WORKER SOURCING AND SUPPLY

In a few short years, labour providers have gone from having a reasonable supply of appropriate workers to the most extreme labour shortages in a generation. Labour providers’ key challenge in 2022 is to find and supply the workers their clients need. Labour providers need to have the skills, knowledge and experience to source and supply the right number and quality of workers for their clients. They will need to keep up to date with the labour market, to work with their clients to develop good quality labour plans, know where to find workers and improve their selection processes to recruit the right quality of workers to meet their clients’ needs.

The Extra Workers Needed Portal is one of the ways in which the ALP is supporting the food industry to address the challenge of labour shortages. Visit our website home page and click the ‘Need Workers’ button.

It’s a straightforward concept and free of charge - the portal enables businesses that need extra workers to post their requirements for workers and be contacted by GLAA licensed ALP labour providers that can supply them. Watch a demonstration on the ALP YouTube Channel.

n All employers can register now to add their vacancies to the portal

n ALP GLAA licensed labour provider members can see businesses that need workers and how to contact them. Our ‘Working in the UK Food Industry’, video features food workers speaking honestly about why it’s such a great sector to work in.

The video is for all food industry employers and labour providers to use on their websites and in their recruitment campaigns to support in giving confidence to people considering work in the food industry and to inspire them to apply for work in this critical sector.

Access this FREE video from the video page of the ALP Help Centre.
