ASPLUND - MADE IN SWEDEN We are very proud that ASPLUND furniture is made in Sweden—this has been our goal from the very start in 1990 to keep manufacturing as local as possible. By doing so, we contribute to and support the Swedish furniture industry while staying true to the core values of Swedish design and craftsmanship. Many pieces in our collection require expertise from several small, specialized factories to meet our high standards, with each factory excelling in its own field.

ASPLUND - ABOUT OUR COLLECTION For over three decades ASPLUND has worked on developing new designs by up-and-coming, as well as acclaimed, Swedish and international designers. This has resulted in a collection of carpets, storage, tables and other products. The ASPLUND Collection has a style that is something functional yet elegant, something Swedish yet international. And something we want to have and use in our own spaces. Pieces with a subtle identity in high quality which we believe will last for a long time. Not only because of the well worked through design and function, but also since we choose to have a handmade or a semi manual production where everything is made to order. In that way we do not have any leftover stock and only produce as many pieces as actually is needed. As a producer we see it as our responsibility to make sure that our production take place under both ethically and environmentally sustainable conditions. We are always working on improving not only our quality, but also to reach our sustainability goals. ASPLUND - THE STORY Founded in 1990, by brothers Michael and Thomas Asplund, Gallery ASPLUND was exhibiting furniture as art objects and in limited editions. With constant collaborations with designers and artists the gallery soon became a stage for contemporary Art and Design. These collaborations resulted in the seed for ASPLUND’s range of furniture, carpets and other contemporary design pieces; ”Edition ASPLUND ” in 1995 the gallery moved to larger premises at our current location, Sibyllegatan 31 Were we still are located today, The since then Creative Director Sandra Adrian Asplund, joined the company at the same time and today the Stockholm house consists of ; A furniture and carpet brand, B2B dept, Interior & Design Studio, web shop and a curated multibrand Store that also serves as our Showroom. With constant influences by literally meeting the end customer, and through our interior architect team’s challenges, we learn daily what is needed in our homes and spaces. Nature, craftmanship, materials and techniques combined with tradition have always been in focus and our key inspiration. This together with the knowledge that natural materials both feels vivid and changes gracefully over time, has contributed to the ASPLUND approach of design. Over the years ASPLUND’s signature style has shown the world that Swedish minimalism can be warm and elegant. We work to create design classics that can be passed on for generations. Today ASPLUND is an internationally acclaimed design establishment, which has contributed significantly to the idea of contemporary Swedish design. ASPLUND Collection, created in collaboration with renowned designers, can be found in homes, hotels and public spaces globally. Today ASPLUND is represented at retailers worldwide. From 2026, in accordance with new EU standards, these cabinets will be assembled using special fittings designed to simplify partial repairs and support future recycling.

ASPLUND - MATERIALS The ASPLUND range and concept is all about tactility and through combining different materials together we want to create a balanced “soft minimalism” where the feeling of the touch of the surfaces should be responding to the true material. The chosen colours and nuances in the materials and finishes are carefully chosen to enrich both materials as well as the product. We are also very happy to be able to give our customers the possibility create a customized piece of ASPLUND furniture.

ASPLUNDs’ chosen materials and finishes: VENEERS IN OAK AND ASH In general we use two types of veneer; On tabletops we use a beautiful handcut veneer and for cabinets a smoother more streamlined veneer. For darker stains we use ash veneer as base material. Our oak and ash veneers are FSC-certified and sourced within the EU. Every piece is unique in its own and is pressed on top of a MDF-Plus or plywood which is then treated with a tinted oil wax. (Oilwax without top coat should be maintained, read more about this in our maintenance/care guides, page 80). Tabletops (dining) are coated with a polyurethane layera and desktops are as standard treated with an oil wax. The Polyurethane makes the surfaces less delicate when used daily as it is more resistant to water, stains and UV-radiation.

SOLID WOOD Our solid wood is FSC certified and sourced within the EU. Solid wood is a natural and living material. We love to use solid wood for its strength, quality, strong character, and unique grain and colour. Generally we treat solid wood treated with a sustainable oilwax if nothing else mentioned.

LACQUERED MDF Our EU-sourced MDF+ is FSC ,PEFC-certified and Svanmärkt medium density fibreboard. The density is approx. 760-800 kg/m3. Our matte-lacquered MDF have a triple applied durable water based lacquer. Some products, where extra durability is required, such as veneer dining table tops we add a polyurethane lacquer. Since Jan 2022, our SNOW and FRAME series are coated with a more sustainable water-based laquer and it contains a cross-link formula that makes it more dense, durable, has a higher viscosity and are more resistant to liquids as alcohol, and coffee than an acid-based lacquer.

GLASS: CLEAR, LACQUERED OR TINTED Tops on LUC sideboards and TATI coffee tables. Clear glass is a 4 mm hardened clear glass with a slight phase to protect its corners and edges. The coloured glass actually has a lacquered MDF board as a base with a clear glass on top. if there is the demand for a pure white glass, there is a special “opti white” glass that can be ordered. Tinted mirror glass we use for OTTO mirrors and also for special orders for TATI tables in Bronze. STONES Carrara Marble, Pietra Grey, Elegant Grey, Jura Limestone and Valverde are available as tops for tables, cabinets, consoles and coffee tables. Our stone tops are sourced within the EU and are honed to achieve a smooth, matte appearance. They are treated with either a nano coating or a stone oil finish, both of which protect and harden the surface. The nano treatment increases resistance to marks and stains while giving the surface a softer, smoother feel. As nano treatments wear off over time, maintenance is required. Please confirm which treatment has been applied, or refer to the product-specific care instructions before cleaning or maintaining your stone top. Please note! All stones are natural materials, and every stone is unique. Variations such as small cavities, fossils, darker or lighter colour areas, general colour differences, minor metal traces and fine lines may occur and are a natural part of the material. In some stones, fine lines may appear crack-like; however, these are rare and form part of the stone’s individual pattern and should be regarded as a proof of authenticity. Carrara Marble is the ultimate classic type of marble that is quarried in the Carrara region of Italy. It has been used for centuries in art and architecture, and is prized for its unique veining and fresh white color. We use a B-C assortment quality which have reference to the clarity of the white. Jura Limestone is crafted from genuine, quarried in Bavaria, Germany. Formed over 150 million years ago, Jura is a premium natural stone renowned for its durability and timeless beauty. Its warm beige tones and distinctive veining are the result of natural fossil deposits from ancient plants and marine life – not imperfections or cracks. Each slab is one of a kind, and the presence of these fossil traces is a hallmark of the stone’s authenticity and exceptional quality.

Pietra Grey is a calcite marble. A warm grey base that is calm and solid in appearance . The pattern alternates between very fine snow-white streaks and barely perceptible linear slate-colored glazes. The surface is silk matt honed. Pietra Grey

Although Elegant Grey is a light grey marble quarried in Pakistan, the light grey variations in the stone has an elegant scandinavian look. The natural, non directional pattern is elegant and soft shifting and the surface is silk matt honed.
