National Committees

There are currently 11 standing committees and 2 ad hoc committees working towards goals of the National Organization. They handle everything from planning our upcoming Convention to developing the National philanthropy event, from keeping our website running to determining National Award recipients, from researching chapter management software to publishing this newsletter! (And that's just to name a few.)

Active and Alumnae Members who wish to contribute to ΑΣΚ can volunteer for one (or more!) of these committees. If you are interested in helping out, visit

Newsletter Committee

If you'd like to help make future issues of The Lioness Loop great, consider joining the Newsletter Committee (our next meeting is October 23)! Or reach out to share your stories and ideas at newsletter@ask-wits.com.

Website Committee

This past year the Website Committee worked to get our newest Members access to the National website. With this, they hope to continue to expand the website to be a source of truth, for Members and non-members alike to easily find resources and communication from the National Organization. In the future, they see the website as a place that our Members can go to find ways to come together, whether that be through events shared on the site or connecting through the Membership Database.

Emergency Response Planning

This committee is working to develop plans for NBoD response to future emergencies, with a focus on putting together proposals for 2023 Convention. If you are interested in joining the committee, but cannot make their first Thursday meetings, they still welcome participation to help with writing the SOPs.

Documents Committee

Do you have a passion for updating National Documents or see documents that need updating? Then the National Document's Committee is the right one for you. It is a fairly easy committee that has a direct impact on the National Organization. The Committee meets about once per month in the fall and more often as we get closer to the Convention proposal deadline in spring. Meetings are always on the weekend via Google Meet. Some of the Committee's current tasks include updating the National Goals Committee Policy (1 year goal) and then removing all pronouns from the National Constitution (2 year goal). If this is something that you are interested in, please reach out to be added to upcoming meetings: ask.national.docs.committee@gmail.com

Facility Corporation Development

This newly created committee is already off to a great start! They've spoken to other Greek organizations, held their first meeting and set their first tasks. Now, they will be reaching out to the Educational Foundation to discuss creating a new entity and reaching out to other chapters to gauge interest in housing and meeting spaces. Their next meeting is October 17, via Zoom. Please reach out via email (Danielle at Ungur006@umn.edu) if you would like to join this research-focused committee!

Closed Goal Committee

Is updating ritual something that is calling your name? Do you want to be part of reviewing and updating ALL of our National Ritual? Then joining the Closed Goal Committee is for you. Members of this committee receive a working copy of the ritual (in locked format) for review. They will propose changes to be presented at the 2023 National Convention Closed Meeting and voted on by chapters at the 2024 National Convention. This committee meets via conference call once a month. If this is something that interests you, please reach out to the Chair, Mary Matthews at angelscatie@gmail.com.

Trademark Committee

Having filed trademark registrations for multiple ΑΣΚ marks in 2022, the Trademark Committee has some new goals, specifically: evaluating license management services, writing up policy for branding and use of our marks, and determining what we want to trademark in the future.

As with all committees, this commitee benefits from the varied perspectives brought by Active and Alumnae Members from multiple chapters. If you are interesting in joining us for this new stage of our committee, want to check out our first meeting on October 20 or just want a little more info, please e-mail askwits.tm@gmail.com.
