In addition, the Rho 1030 uses the latest Durst Quadro Array 30M printhead technology and can print up to 1,000 square metres per hour without comprising quality, using Rho inks that are 100% solvent. One example of how the Durst technology has boosted McGowans business and helped them to add value for their customers relates to their client Lidl who change the appearance of their Lidl stores nationwide on a weekly basis. Artwork is supplied to McGowans, either on a Friday or Monday, with the printed banners and signs delivered by the Wednesday to all stores. “No job has been too big, or too fast a turnaround,” says Lidl’s Julie Hegarty. “McGowans has risen to the challenge, delivered on time, and always with a smile.” The unprecedented success of the Durst Rho 1030 flatbed led to McGowans investment in the Durst Rho P10 320R inkjet roll-to-roll printer. The Quadro Array P10 printhead technology, developed by Durst, and the magnetic linear drive carriage systems are significant innovations. For McGowans, though, it also means a quantum step forward for white ink production, making screen printing redundant. Everything is 100% digital. For stores such as Primark, it means impressive static window graphics that, for them, have become the norm. “This is by far the best quality we have ever seen from a three metre wide machine,” says Mal. “Durst provides highly reliable digital technologies across the small and large format platforms, and has successfully addressed our need for reliability, quality, speed, and a robust and durable machine build.
