THE ANSWER, IS TO RESPOND TO THE SITE’S HISTORY, PAST AND PRESENT, TO REFOCUS AND REAFIRM THE TRANSFORMATIVE WORK OF OLLI, AND TO RESTABLITH THE ORGANIZATION ON SUNNY SLOPE WITH A NEW CAMPUS THAT PROMOTES AND ENCOURAGES EDUCATION, CREATIVITY, AND CONVERSTION IN ORDER TO CREATE LASTING CHANGE IN AUBURN’S COMMUNITY.

Memorial Bridge
Using the documents which recorded the age, race, and gender of each of the slaves, we have immortalized them in this memorial bridge, stretching from auburn university, to the sunny slope plantation. This was the childhood home of William Samford, founder of Auburn University.
The bridge is intended to highlight auburns deep relationship with the plantation site, its presence is authoritative and says,
“We were implicit in slavery”
