MUDDY WATER I didn’t realize you were wounded ’til I saw blood. My vision was blurred like water mixed with mud. I kept swimming without true clarity. I thought I could find my way because I was impatient and anxious. Then I stopped and the water started to settle, the dirt sank to the bottom—now I could see only because I was patient I’m given clarity. I will no longer haste, but be slow and steady. There is a race, but now I’m ready.

I WALKED OUT THAT DARK ALLEY I walked out that dark alley— boy, I’m relieved, yet I look back to old things that he had conquered. That’s what I believed. He is everything in one and says the war is won. Battle in mind...that has just begun. I walked out that dark alley and see a street appealing to the eyes, revealing all the lies, illuminated by light. There is comfort in truth. There is no shame in my pain. See my chains there darkened to me. God has a key when I choose him over me. I walked out that dark alley no longer slave to self. I’m free with his plan. I’m free indeed.
