Mains Concepts There are 3 different types of Pyxis® solutions; Open, Closed and Hybrid. Each solution is designed to fulfil varied departmental requirements. The majority of Pyxis Supply Technology installations are Hybrid systems.

An open system means that supplies are automated without being shut behind closed doors. Open systems, such as the patented JITrBuD technology, are popular for storing low cost or bulky items such as blankets, gloves or IV Fluids.

A closed system is a storage system where supplies are locked behind closed doors. Closed systems are popular as they have much higher levels of security. They can manage all supplies but are best suited to high cost lines.

Hybrid systems combine the benefits of open and closed technologies by offering secure storage for high-cost stock items as well as inventory management for low-cost items.


Hybrid Systems Hybrid Systems are tailored for each individual location using a combination of open and closed technologies, which work seamlessly together to maximise the beneďŹ ts that you receive. Our hybrid systems are unique... Due to the complete integration between the PyxisÂŽ solutions, terminal log-in is only required once. This is to allow, and maintain full access to the stock. Open and closed systems can be combined to achieve economies of scale, enhanced functionalities, increased security and rapid access to products.

Benefits: Simple ‘Touch to Take’ technology, which is quick and easy to use.

JITrBUD A JITrBUD is designed for rapid access through using a simple 'Touch to Take' technology, where stock levels are managed simply by pressing the 'Take' button for each item taken, and the 'Return' button for each item that is placed back into storage. Using RF technology, each JITrBUD communicates with a hub system, which records the stock levels and allows staff to regularly access reports to monitor stock usage. The JITrBUD system with it's patented technology can be used as a standalone solution or combined with automated stations such as the SupplyStation® as part of a hybrid system. It is the perfect tool for automating the supply chain of lower value goods, or goods that are too bulky to be stored in a closed system. JITrBUD’s are attached to each box, tray or shelf containing the line items that require automating.

1 Touch

Our systems are simple to use. Supplies can be taken after pressing as little as one button.


StockStationTM The StockStation™ is a barcode-scanning solution which addresses cost and space constraints for stockrooms, warehouses, clinical areas and other storage environments. It enables full automation without the need to move or alter stock storage. The system enables staff to pick items as usual and scan them either within the store room or at the point of use. It links items to a patient and records the lot and serial numbers on exit of the stock location. The scanner can either be wall-mounted, or wireless.

Benefits: Uses manufacturers barcodes so items can be scanned at point of use.

The StockStation™ is space efficient.

By using barcode technology and an intuitive user interface, this system assigns products to specific areas or patients, and updates inventory and costing records automatically. This allows for easy re-ordering and reporting on stock levels.

Reduces manual processes.

Not only does the StockStation™ manage stock levels, its sophisticated technology also enables it to label items and re-order low stock, saving a significant amount of time and expense.

SupplyStation® The SupplyStation® provides secure easy access and management of supplies in all areas throughout your healthcare facility. Workflow, patient care and financial performance can be enhanced through using the SupplyStation®. It provides secure, automated dispensing and gives you the ability to document usage in real-time, reducing documentation errors and improving cost capture and workflow. The SupplyStation® has the simplest returns procedure available through the use of our patented ‘take’ and ‘return’ buttons, helping to ensure staff compliance and accurate data.

SupplyRoller The SupplyRoller offers convenient, on-the-go access to supplies at the point of care.

The battery-powered system offers the same benefits as the SupplyStation®, whilst also reducing the costs that are typically associated with multi-location inventory. The SupplyRoller system provides the ability to set and manage inventory levels as well as interfacing with supplier and hospital information systems.

FancyFind FancyFind guides users to an item using sequential flashing of LED lights. It is designed to help staff locate supplies that are stored in a SupplyStationTM, or any connected auxiliary towers. It works by initially lighting up the whole station or tower that the sought after supplies are stored in, to direct the user to the correct system. Then the lights at the correct door will flash, and finally the specific item location.

Auxiliary Towers Each Pyxis® system can be installed with towers or auxiliaries for extra capacity, to accommodate a larger number of items requiring automation. Towers and auxiliaries can be attached to closed systems or to hybrid systems and are available in a multitude of different sizes. They are flexible in that you can choose single or double mains, with a variety of different types of doors, drawers, shelving and door sizes. The solution is modular, therefore more towers can be added as required which makes the solution more flexible and always suitable to any changes in requirements.

Up to 128 doors can be added to any one supply main for even more storage space.

CathRack

Benefits:

The CathRack has been specifically designed for the unique requirements of catheterisation laboratories and radiology departments. This electronic supply management system can customised within a SupplyStation® and automates the distribution and control of catheters. stents, balloons and other supplies used in these areas.

Secure cabinets with ‘Touch-To-Take’ technology with individual take and return buttons per hook.

The CathRack can also be linked with JITrBUD devices to manage supplies outside of the secure cabinet.

Space efficient units which help to automate stock level counting and the order, replenishment and billing processes.

Configurable slide out storage racks, which optimise capacity and preserve tip integrity.

Operates in Anchor Mode. This functionality allows the solution to remain unlocked during a procedure, for rapid access and accurate logging of details.

Enables users to set and manage inventory levels whilst interfacing with supplier and hospital information systems.

Benefits: Where power and network points are not easily accessible, the StockStationTM Mobile provides an innovative solution.

Advanced barcode administration at point of care which provides reporting on the final stage before the patient is given certain supplies.

StockStationTM Mobile The StockStationTM Mobile is a convenient, space efficient way of managing supplies using a barcode scanning solution in areas such as Theatres, or environments where workflow is slightly more complicated. The system provides all the benefits of a static StockStation™ with the additional benefit that it can be wheeled where needed, making it the ideal solution for locations where there are space constraints. Supplies are scanned at point of use with the StockStationTM Mobile which is ideal in Theatres where the exact item required may not be known until during a procedure.

Improves the accessibility to information and information management tools.

The StockStationTM Mobile can be configured to link with other Pyxis systems and can then can be used to scan supplies at the point of use to make reporting even more specific.

Space efficient as it is a small unit that can be wheeled where needed.

Battery life can last up to 12 hours before needing to be charged which takes 3-4 hours.

Multiple batteries can be purchased so that there is no system downtime as one or multiple batteries can be charged while the other is being used.

Easy to use. Simple barcode scanning systems enable staff to spend more time with customers and improve patient care.

Procedure Upgrade The ProcedureStation™ is a software upgrade to the Pyxis® solutions and is particularly useful in theatres and cath labs. It has a number of beneficial functionalities not limited to providing accurate reporting of procedure level costing, Surgeon or physician cost reports, and creates picking lists for each procedure. The picking lists are set up in the system, so if a user types in a specific procedure, it will bring up a list of equipment required for this procedure, its total cost and the total cost of the particular patient to date. This type of information can be used to help plan theatre schedules more efficiently or used as a tool to enable standardisation of items used within the department.

Benefits: The ProcedureStationTM can identify a procedural, Surgeon, Theatre and patient level costing.

The ProcedureStationTM has the simplest returns procedure available by using our patented ‘Take’ and ‘Return’ buttons, helping to ensure staff compliance and accurate data.

‘Anchor Mode’ can be used on the ProcedureStationTM. This means that a user can log in and select a patient, and the system will stay logged in at the patient’s record. This is particularly useful in operating theatres as adding to a patient record during an operation will be quick and simple.

Some sites have reported a 19% reduction in the cost of supplies in the operating room, since installing the ProcedureStationTM.

The ProcedureStationTM interfaces with hospital registrie’s, patient costing and materials management for real-time accurate reports.

Interfacing Options: Pyxis can interface to many departments and systems.

Interface & Integrate Pyxis® systems are designed to interface seamlessly with different departments and systems within the hospital. All Pyxis® systems can interface with each other and all transactions can be tracked and reported on. Interfacing between Pyxis® and your existing systems is extremely flexible and whilst generally using HL7 messaging, most interface solutions can be provided.
