Icame to Boise with my parents, two brothers, and one sister. I have a sister in Canada, one in Colorado, and one in North Dakota.

In Bhutan, we all lived together: my grandpa, grandma, uncle, aunt. Outside of our house there were mountains, tall mountains, lots of sun, little bits of clouds.

My dad had two wives in Bhutan. I had two moms. I have one mom in Boise, one in Kentucky.

We all went to the refugee camp in Nepal. I went to school at the refugee camp for students with disabilities.

I have four friends in Washington, four in New York.

When I try to see it in my mind, I don’t have memories of it.

I remember Nepal a little bit. I don’t forget my country of Nepal or Bhutan.

I’m living here and it’s good and my friend says, why are you not living here? One day in Nepal I was roaming around and my friend called me—I heard his voice—and we talked.

Sometimes I walked around with my friends, sometimes I went and we asked people for money. He played guitar. His name is Yam.

I like Boise. I am happy here. Boise is very nice. Good weather. In my country there’s snow up on the mountains.

Born in Bhutan and lived there until he was nine-years-old. Lived at the refugee camp in Nepal for 21 years. 47
