Outline You will develop your confidence and skills through a variety of performance projects. Aims To develop your confidence and skills in preparation for drama What will I be expected to achieve? You will be expected to demonstrate your ability to:

apply basic singing, dance and acting techniques to the performance of a range of songs, dances and acting pieces demonstrate increased confidence in presenting yourself to an audience

Knowledge and understanding • •

undertake appropriate and relevant background research and analysis of the material chosen for performances broaden your awareness of the breadth of styles and genres in the musical theatre canon

Values and attitudes • •

gain awareness of your own strengths, interests and needs work actively as a generous and supportive member of an ensemble

How will I be assessed? The first two performances, Song and Dance in the Autumn term, will be marked pass/fail and will not contribute to the overall mark for the module. After the performance of all other units has been completed you will be assessed on your rehearsal process and your standard of performance as follows: • •

The creative team will mark your rehearsal process Heads of Department will mark your standard of performance

How and when will I receive feedback? You will receive verbal feedback throughout the rehearsal process and written feedback from the lead tutor/creative of each unit within 20 working days of the performance. 58
