WELCOME TO

THE FISHER THEATRE At last we reach that very special high-point in this year's calendar, the Fisher Theatre’s 10th Anniversary, with things in store that will certainly be most entertaining and memorable, and even more so if you join in some of the participatory events. The Fisher Theatre means so much to me, apart from becoming a second home, it has rekindled and housed my love of theatre for the past 10 years, bringing successes and many unforgettable experiences. When you spend so much time in a building like this, you can’t help but become affectionate towards it and proud of how this old, well-used space serves its community, adapting to whatever we throw at it. Over birthday-tide we have two theatrical pieces, one on the theme of ‘Birthday’ when our method of arrival into the world is drastically changed, and the other on David Fisher and a ‘Slytly Hystorical’ version of events he may have experienced. We hope you might be tempted to join in the Georgian events to highlight the theatre’s origins and get a taste for what Georgians liked by displaying a 21st century curiosity at our exhibition, gambling at cards at the Fancy or by entering your own handmade cockerel in our mock cockfight that night. A special murder mystery vintage tea will be delicious but thrilling and the cabaret night is the party to celebrate what a wonderful place of entertainment we have to share. Congratulations The Fisher Theatre!

Bungay’s was the last theatre built, as there was already a theatre in the castle grounds, and so she missed a long history of performances, but is certainly making-up for it now. New England, 1630. William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. 'The Witch' is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own fears and anxieties, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil. Directed by Robert Eggers. 93 minutes

Title: A Bungay Breakfast Opening & Private View: 8 October Ends: 4 Nov

I have lived in this area for most of my life. I love the big skies and the play of light on the water. Many of my paintings are in response to walks I have taken in the Waveney Valley and the surrounding countryside.

Alasdair has been a keen photographer for many years doing his own film processing in the 1990’s and an early convert to the potential of digital photography. He has been a world traveller for decades, living abroad for a number of years, taking inspiration from the diverse landscapes and people.“Furriner” or foreigner in the Norfolk dialect, reflects his situation as a neophyte to Norfolk and as an influence on his work.

These monoprints by Liz Taunt are not representational. However, some of the vertical and horizontal planes and lines may suggest urban or rural landscapes. They are made by playing with the conventional elements of abstraction: colour, tone, texture, line and form. It is an enjoyable process in which the first arbitrary mark prompts a responding mark, which leads to the next one, and so on.

This memorial exhibition presents some of Alix's core artworks, alongside those of her friends and family. It is a celebration of her life, her inquisitive mind and the extraordinary power of friendship and community.

Title: Relative Details Opening & Private View: 4 December Ends: 2 Jan Ceci Eno - Having recently graduated from the Marine and Natural History Photography degree course at Falmouth University, Cecily Eno lives and works in Cornwall. She creates mixed-media pieces which often draw inspiration from organic forms and the interplay - and often blurred distinction - between the man-made and natural worlds. Bee Eno is a designer-maker living and working in Bungay. Working in a wide range of media, from fashion and interiors textiles, to knitwear, sugar craft to scenery painting and prop making. She graduated from UCS Lowestoft in 2011 with a BA in Design Craft, and is currently studying for a Masters in Fashion at Norwich University of the Arts. the work for this exhibition is inspired by her close observation of the details of things around, particularly natural forms, applied to the details of dress and historic costume.
