welcome We are sure you agree that art brings joy and inspiration in any season. Maybe you’re looking through this catalog as you take a well-deserved breather from the holiday madness. Perhaps a New Year’s resolution to try something new has inspired you to explore our classes. Or, maybe the coming of spring (such as it is in Central Oregon!) has you anxious to get the kids enrolled in enriching school break camps. Whatever the reason you find Arts Central’s newest catalog in your hands, we welcome you! We have new classes for all interests as well as some favorites that students request year after year. We also welcome some fresh new faces to our impressive roster of professional teaching artists; all eager to share their knowledge in new ways that we are sure will inspire and delight artistic learners of all ages and skill levels. Let the creating begin anew!

our purpose Arts Central’s purpose is two-fold; to cultivate creative minds by making the arts accessible to all and to bring the arts into all aspects of community life.

Doing so provides an exciting new way of observing, interpreting and experiencing the world. This fresh perspective nurtures innovative problem solving and enriches all aspects of our lives. That is why we provide arts education services to individuals, schools and nonprofits throughout the region. We also collaborate with businesses and city governments to bring the arts into every facet of our region. Because the arts are essential to a healthy, vibrant community and when a strong creative economy exists, we all benefit.

Dear Arts Supporter, As we usher in another New Year, all of us at Arts Central would like to share some 2015 program highlights with you: Enrollment at Art Station increased by nearly 30% over last year! We are deeply moved that so many artists of all ages and abilities are enjoying professionallyled classes and camps at Central Oregon’s only nonprofit visual arts school. Through our Artists in Schools (AiS) program, more than 3,000 students in schools across five counties were inspired through enriching arts education. Connecting the arts with curriculum improves engagement and learning retention at all grade levels; proof that the arts matter to grey matter! VanGo, our mobile art studio, traveled to more than 15 sites and events this year, delivering professional-level arts education to nearly 1,000 children in rural communities. Our proudest achievement is that we provide arts to all in Central Oregon by keeping our class prices competitive and offering scholarships to students who need financial assistance. The average class fee at Art Station is just $75. But did you know that the actual cost of holding a class is approximately $125 per student? As a nonprofit, Arts Central relies on the community to help bridge the $50 delta so we can maintain high quality programming that is affordable and accessible. Donate today and ensure we are able to continue expanding the reach of our programs in 2016. Thank you for your support! Sincerely,

Bert Kronmiller Board President
