services providing health education and family planning and miscarriages and unwanted pregnancies are declining. The rate of disease transmission has reduced with 858cases of contagious diseases recorded in 2009 , which is very low when compared with other municipalities (for example, the number of contagious disease cases recorded in Prizren in just one month in 2009 was 1,332). The main health services provided in the Main Family Medicine Center are: family health service, pediatric, gynecology, dental, emergency, specialist services, diagnostic, and medicaments supply. Every month the staff receives refreshment lectures by local and national experts. Problems Even though continuous efforts are made to improve health services, the health system is still in need of further investment in infrastructure, staff, working tools and materials.

Due to budgetary constrai nts not all villages have a health centre. Nevertheless a zoning exercise has been carried out to ensure that all villages are catered for by the existing centres. There is no female doctor and it is difficult for women to access to gynecological services, as it is difficult for women to travel to Dragash town and the only gynecologist must stay in Dragash, therefore cannot go to the villages.
