INTRODUCTION

When I began practicing law in 1994, the Texas Family Code was a fraction of its current size. The extra pages reflect all of the new things that t Judge David Farr is in his third term as Judge of the 312th Family District Court. In 2010, he completed an active duty assignment in Iraq before taking the bench. Prior to his active duty, Judge Farr served as Associate Judge of the 257th District Court for five years and prosecuted child support cases for five years. As a member of the Texas Army National Guard, he has been a Judge Advocate Officer since 1997 and has since been promoted to Colonel. He has also served active duty assignments in Bosnia, Kosovo, and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Judge Farr is board certified in family law, a veteran of the Global War on Terror, and a member of the Texas Aggie Bar Association. He was also a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets from 1987 until 1991. He is a former board member for both the IBA's Family Law Section and Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists. Judge Farr is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Houston and was previously an adjunct professor at South Texas College of Law Houston. Additionally, he has Master Status with the Burta Raybum Inns of Court. Judge Farr earned his B.A. in History from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
