WELCOME TO FACTS! Welcome all comic page turners, actor adorers, panel participants, fan club volunteers, gaming wonders, manga munchers, anime aficionados, binge watchers, film fanatics, cosplay kings & queens, furries, crossplayers, steampunkers, mermaids, veterans, newcomers, children, ‘grown-up children’, and everyone we forgot to mention, to yet another edition of FACTS! Over the past 5 months and more, our team has been giving it their all to grant you a weekend full of unique experiences and fun times. And we think we’ve pulled it off. We’ve made some improvements to familiar concepts and tried out a few cool experiments. But we’ll let you all discover these for yourselves. Get out there, explore, and let the sudden rush of solidarity overwhelm you! Because no matter how much cool stuff we come up with, you will always quickly see that the real magic of this convention springs from the interactions between you and your fellow fans, in the scenery we provide. USEFUL INFORMATION ENTRANCE/EXIT
You enter our universe AND you go back to reality through Halls 8 and 5. It’s right where the three main roads of the biggest hall come together. Say hi to the FACTS Hero for us!
OPENING HOURS
It’s Saturday? Stay until 19:00! Sunday? Stay until 17:00!
OUTSIDE
If you must get back to ‘reality’ temporarily, ask for a stamp from the crew at the scanners when exiting. Otherwise, we can’t let you back in! If you just want some fresh air, use the open space between Halls 5 & 7.
WEAPONS
Dangerous weapons that are bought at FACTS must remain in their sealed packaging. If we see you waving your dangerous weapon around, we’ll have to confiscate it and hand it to the police. Don’t ruin your own party!
RESTROOMS
The toilets are located in Halls 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8. The visit costs a small fee of 50 eurocents.
CASH
Don’t have credits left, but you badly want that one collector’s item to come home with you? You can get cash beneath the balcony of Hall 1 and near the staircase at the workshops.

SMOKING
Not allowed, not even with any other type of cigarettes or pipes. But we have a solution: there is a smoking area between Hall 5 and Hall 7, if you want to get some ‘fresh air’ though.
WIFI
Flanders Expo has free Wi-Fi. Tap that Wi-Fi bar icon on your phone and let your friends in the outside world know what they are missing at FACTS!

Holy cell phone service, Batman! The FACTS app is like a little pocket Robin in your heroic adventures. He will help you find the right path and remind you when you need to be in which hall. Search ‘FACTS Fall 2018’ in the Play Store or App Store and let this sidekick guide you.
FIRST AID/RED CROSS
Did you mistake your friend for an attacking Walker? Then head to the Red Cross station in Hall 1, under the balcony on the left-hand side. They’ll be ready with SkeleGro Potions. Too far? Call 09 241 97 18!

PARKING
If you’ve reached FACTS with your trusty steed or car, then don’t forget to validate your parking ticket in the parking lots!
LOST AND FOUND
There are lots of reasons why something goes missing. Nifflers. Shrinking keys. Or simply misplacing your stuff. Call 09 266 69 14 if you’ve lost something at FACTS. Or try your luck at the FACTS police station, under the balcony in Hall 1, on the left-hand side.
PICTURES
You can take pictures of pretty much anything, but there are a few exceptions. Cosplayers? Ask them politely first. They’ll probably be happy to oblige. Actors? Don’t do it without permission. Not all actors like being photographed without their consent. Ask the FACTS Guardians for advice. Also: the FACTS organisation can use the pictures it has taken for commercial purposes without your permission. We will obviously still be very respectful and we will make sure not to do anything that might offend or shame you in any way.
NEED SOME HELP?
Ask the FACTS Guardians! You will recognise these sources of endless enthusiasm by their matching T-shirts and helpfulness. These FACTS crew members are fans, just like you, so don’t be shy!

CHARGING POINT
CosplayCloud should have a charging station for your smartphones, in the Cosplay Hall. FACTS, saving your digital sidekicks from certain death since 1993.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Tram 1 takes you to and from FACTS free of charge upon presentation of your FACTS ticket. If you didn’t know that coming here, then don’t forget when heading home!
BULLYING
Since FACTS is strongly against bullying, we will escort all disruptive and disrespectful people to the exit. Should you encounter bullying or see it happen to others, then inform the FACTS Guardians and we will act accordingly. We also have a new Harassment Notification Centre. This is located at the Info/Merchandise Point, which can be found in Hall 1, right outside Hall 5. FACTS is a safe zone where everyone gets along. We do our best to keep it that way. We try to teach everyone the Comic Con behaviour code as well as we can, but if that doesn’t work, then we will act without hesitation.

FAN VILLAGE MOVIE SCENES For nostalgic movie and series scenes, role-playing cosplayers, awesome lifelike creations and fantastic collections, this is where you need to be. Keep your photo camera at the ready, because you’ll be needing it in the Fan Village!

COSPLAY AT FACTS COSPLAY SHOWS Cosplay is undoubtedly a cornerstone of FACTS. Therefore, we do everything to give the cosplayers a place in the sun. And we have multiple ways to do it! The Cosplay Stage is where all your favourite fictional characters come to life in the most epic way. Come and cheer for the cosplayers on stage, in the Belgian selection round of Clara Cow’s Cosplay Cup, in the Cosplay Catwalk show and in the FACTS cosplay contests! After all, these cosplayers have been working on their costumes and acts with pure passion and precision. Hours, days and months of creativity have gone into their outfits and performances, so let’s repay that effort with thunderous applause!

IS NOT CONSENT Sure, Supergirl and Spider-Man are looking awesome, but never forget that every cosplayer is a real human being in a costume. Always ask for a photograph first and treat our cosplayers with the respect they deserve!

COSPLAY PARADES Join cosplayers in the middle of Hall 1 for a catwalk show! This elevated area is the perfect place for beautiful cosplay pictures, ideal to show off all the details of your costume. Sign up 10 minutes beforehand in your own category (Fantasy / Gaming / Sci-fi / etc.), wait until your name is called and strike your best pose. There’s no competition, everyone’s a winner here! (Pro tip: ideal for cosplaying children) (Time schedules and categories on P16-19)

FACTS SAYS
“FAREWELL, FAKE PRODUCTS!” SAYONARA! DA-AG! ADIEU! Every edition, FACTS puts a lot of time and effort into banning bootleg, fake merchandising and piracy products from the show. The reasons are crystal clear: fake merch hurts everything we stand for. The entertainment producers and artists see their hard work copied and sold for less. Fans go home with something that is not genuine. The Comic Con concept as a whole is done great injustice. And these products are also often made in third world countries in poor labour conditions. More than enough reasons to say no to fake.
HOW FACTS BATTLES FAKE PRODUCTS
• Every exhibitor is forced to sign a FACTS Anti-Bootleg charter before booking a stand. If an exhibitor does not comply, then he/she will be excluded from the show. • Daily bootleg sweeps, starting on Friday during the build-up. • Quick action after bootleg reports are found to be true.
HOW YOU CAN HELP REPORT! Speak to a volunteer or someone from the organisation if you see something suspicious. And this might be a no-brainer, but don’t buy fake products! Ask the exhibitor whether or not the products you’re interested in are legit. It’s a long process, but we are already noticing progress in this battle. Together, we stand strong against fake products.

The second door is the Police Station. If you’re not sure where it is, then check the floor plan. The Red Cross station is indicated with a Pokémon Center on the left side of the plan. Nurse Joy, Nurse Pomfrey and their colleagues will be ready with Skele-Gro Potions and other experimental medicines.
