APRESENTAÇÃO
O projeto Arte Quentinha - Circuito das Padarias convida toda a população do Distrito Federal para conhecer e levar para casa 24 obras de arte, lançadas a cada semana, junto com o pãozinho do dia a dia. Ao simples ato de comprar pão na padaria é agregada a experiência de mergulhar em uma exposição com obras de artistas contemporâneos da capital. Os sacos de pão se tornam objetos artísticos e vêm estampados com obras de artistas locais. Esses talentos, previamente selecionados por uma curadoria conhecedora da arte brasiliense, nos proporcionam a oportunidade de ter seus trabalhos em uma circulação inusitada: cada obra foi replicada em 5.500 sacos de pão. Mais precisamente, 132.000 dessas “telas” são distribuídas em padarias de todo do DF. Desenvolvido por agitadores culturais do DF e patrocinado pelo FAC – Fundo de Apoio à Cultura, o Arte Quentinha é uma ação inusitada que visa a aproximar a arte ao cotidiano da população, por acreditar no acesso de todos à cultura, na quebra da mesmice, no conceito de galeria além dos espaços reservados e no poder da arte como potencial transformador das pessoas e do mundo.

The Bakery Circuit project - Arte Quentinha – invites the population of the Federal District to become acquainted with and take home 24 works of art, released each week, along with their daily bread. With the simple act of purchasing bread at the bakery comes the experience of viewing an exhibition of the works of contemporary artists of Brasilia. Bread bags, imprinted with works of local artists have become objects of art. Screened by curators with deep knowledge of local art, these images provide a unique opportunity to view the artistic talent of Brazil’s capital city. Each artwork is replicated on 5,500 bread bags, and a total of 132,000 such iconic images are being distributed at bakeries throughout the Federal District. Developed by local cultural agitators, with sponsorship from the Fund for Support of Culture (FAC), Arte Quentinha aims to introduce works of local artists into the daily lives of the population, in the belief that culture must be accessible to everyone; that sameness needs to be challenged; that conceptually, art should not be confined to galleries; and that art has the power and potential to transform people and the world.
CURADORIA
A obra de arte é transitiva e, nessa condição ela é, além de objeto, situação, circunstância e ideia. Surge como parte de uma equação que não se soluciona de uma só vez: obra e observador agem em sistema de correspondência e colaboração. E, quando a obra de arte se coloca como imagem em circulação, a troca se diversifica, instaurando novos regimes de visibilidade e sociabilidade. Esse projeto foge aos padrões coloquiais de apresentação da imagem artística, que são galerias e museus, e aproxima-se de uma vertente de pensamento que, iniciada com as vanguardas do início do século XX e consolidada na década de 1960, caracteriza-se pelo entendimento que os modos de produção e disseminação artística podem ser tão ou mais significativos do que o objeto de arte. Por uma imagem artística para circular em sacos de pão é ir em busca da construção de uma rede de interculturalidades que evocam as diferenças de olhar presentes no corpo social e geram novos pontos de significação para a imagem, provocando reflexões em torno do estatuto da obra de arte e de seus meios de apresentação. O saco de pão se torna um dispositivo cultural.
A work of art is transitive and, as such - aside from being an object, situation or circumstance - is also an idea. It emerges as part of an equation that cannot be solved at one viewing: artwork and observer act within a system of correspondence and collaboration. And, when a work of art is placed in circulation as an image, a diversified exchange occurs, instituting new regimes of visibility and sociability. This project defies the colloquial standards of presentation of artistic images, which take place in galleries and museums; its approach being closer to trends launched by early 20th Century vanguards and consolidated in the 1960s, characterized by an understanding that the means of artistic production and dissemination may be just as significant - or even more so than the artwork itself. To place artistic images in circulation on bread bags is to seek creation of an intercultural network evoking different current outlooks on the fabric of society and generation of new points of significance for the image, thereby stimulating reflections on the status of artworks and the means of their presentation. The bread bag becomes a cultural icon.

O HOMENAGEADO GLÊNIO BIANCHETTI
Uma das grandes figuras inspiradoras das artes visuais brasileiras é homenageada nesta primeira edição do projeto. Glênio Bianchetti, em seu cinquentenário de profissão, foi cofundador dos Clubes de Gravura de Bagé e de Porto Alegre. Fundou o setor gráfico e o ateliê de artes plásticas da Universidade de Brasília, de onde foi o primeiro diretor. Mesmo desvinculado da Universidade em 64, permaneceu na capital dedicando-se sobretudo à pintura e à tapeçaria, e na década de 70 colaborou ainda com a criação do MAB Museu de Arte de Brasília. A equipe Arte Quentinha homenageia um dos artistas mais importantes do Brasil que contribuiu para a formação de uma vasta geração de talentosos artistas de Brasília. Seu trabalho faz parte da identidade da capital e sua arte, sempre atual, permanece um estímulo aos talentos emergentes.

An outstanding inspirational figure of Brasilia’s visual arts scene is honored by this first edition of the Arte Quentinha project. Glênio Bianchetti, in his fifty-year contribution to the profession, was cofounder of the Engraver’s Clubs of Bagé and of Porto Alegre. He was also founder of the graphics sector and plastic arts studio of the University of Brasilia and served as its first director. Even after severance from the university, in 1964, he remained here in the capital, dedicated mostly to painting and tapestry and, in the 1970s, collaborated in the founding of the Museum of Art of Brasília (MAB). Arte Quentinha honors one of Brazil’s most important artists and his contribution toward the training of an entire generation of talented local artists. Glênio Bianchetti’s works are part of the artistic identity of the capital and his artistry, eternally contemporary, remains an inspiration for emerging talents. Warmest thanks are due to the Bianchetti family, especially the artist’s wife, Ailema, and daughter, Ângela, for their interest and enthusiasm in embracing Arte Quentinha.
