Al igual que en su trabajo fotográfico en el cine, la televisión y la música, su manera de revelar lo que observa, pasa de capturar los momentos adecuados a evidenciar la belleza del paisaje.
ooking at her photographs is like touching the reflected textures with your eyes, seeing the cities with the naked eye and getting to know the people that move about through her images. Just like in her photographic work in cinema, television and music, her way of displaying what she observes goes from capturing the right moment to showing the beauty of the landscape.
Maritza Caneca comienza su carrera en 1986 como asistente de fotografía de varios proyectos audiovisuales en Brasil, país de donde es procedente. La primera cinta en la que participó fue Cinema Falado del director y compositor musical Caetano Veloso, posteriormente hizo parte de varios filmes como El increíble Hulk, Zuzu Angel, Brasil Animado 3D,entre otros. Entre sus grandes proyectos figura como directora de fotografía en la realización de documentales y videos musicales entre los que se destaca su participación en el videoclip Walk on de la banda irlandesa U2 que fue grabado en Brasil.
Maritza Caneca started her career in 1986 as a photography assistant in several audiovisual projects in Brazil, the country where she is from. The first film she participated in was Cinema Falado by Director and musical composer Caetano Veloso. She later took part in various films such as The Incredible Hulk, Zuzu Angel, Brasil Animado 3D, among others. In Between her big projects she appears as the photography director in the making of documentaries and music videos. Among those, she stands out for her participation in the music video Walk On from the Irish band U2 which was recorded in Brazil.
Esta gran pasión la llevó a que, durante su rol como directora de fotografía, conservara esos instantes en imágenes que ahora pertenecen a varias series que constituyen el placer de capturar las atmósferas de diversos sitios en el mundo; los colores y los diferentes objetos representativos de cada cultura le dan un significado mayor. Dentro de su trabajo, se destacan cuatro series fotográficas las cuales hablan del espacio mismo entre las que están: Cuba, Piscinas Vazias, Fachadas y Avenida Brasil.
This devotion during her role as photography director lead her to preserving those moments in images that now belong to several series that create the pleasure of capturing the ambiance of different sites throughout the world; the colors and the different objects representing each culture give her a greater meaning. Among her work, four photographic series stand out which talk about the space itself. In which are: Cuba, Piscinas Vazias, Fachadas and Avenida Brasil.
