The End... Mais par où commence la fin ? Toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin mais toutes les fins ne sont pas forcément bonnes ! Les mauvaises langues qui s’introduisent dans les abysses de la mauvaise foi, répandaient leur venin sur l’Egp18 ! Heureusement que le jour se lève du bon pied sur cette 3ème étape du 12 et 13 Mai ! Quand on sait l’investissement physique et mental que fournisse une partie des riders à Paris sur cet espace, nous attendions pour cette 3ème année, une finale à la hauteur de nos espérances ! Une petite surprise était prévue... Un Airbag de 15 mètres de long sur 10 mètres de large ! De quoi s’entraîner et envoyer tout et n’importe quoi... La scène parisienne est venue, accompagnée de quelques bretons et lyonnais qui ont fait le déplacement ! Chez les -16 (catégorie «Young guns») les lignes en street et bowl ont bien été rodées par les kids et à la suite de ces 3 étapes, nous commençons à nous rendre compte qu’il y a déja une relève avec notamment Cyprien Charbonnier qui envoie déja des tailwip de partout à des hauteurs bien costaudes et Wendy Dorlys qui se balance en flair ! En ce qui concerne la catégorie + 16 ans, du beau monde avait fait le déplacement ! David Lombard fait exploser des aerial de fou dans la pool du bowl sans penser que la margelle ressort de plusieurs centimètres au dessus de la verticale de la courbe ! Turndown, lookback et style fluide d’une efficacité presque abusée ! Michel Dos Santos se fait remarquer avec un Alley hoop Flair de folie à plus de 1m80 au dessus du Bowl ! Il enchaînera un passage mélangeant technique et «Gros Coeur» avec un transfert tailwip d’un bowl à l’autre ! Romain Hudry nous fera enfin le plaisir de le voir évoluer comme un oiseau et s’envoie en l’air dans toutes les parties du bowl... Antoine Mallier, la révélation cette année, dévoila pendant son run toute une panoplie de tricks techniques avec de l’amplitude et du style ! Pas un pied n’a été posé au sol, à croire que ce gamin à peine sorti de l’école est déjà mature dans son riding ! Greg Masson, en bon patron, sortira son épingle du jeu en plaçant un hand plant dans la pool du bowl ainsi que du flair et des combos incroyablement tricotés. Il finira dans la fosse à funbox notamment en plaçant un nose foot jam sortie fackie sur l’énorme sub ! Barry Khone était de la partie et a littéralement fumé : 1) Le bowl et chacun de ses recoins ! 2) l’air de street tel un «BIP BIP fuit le COYOTE» ! 3) La FunBox et la Sub Box! Flair dans le pocket du bowl, suivi de hand plant sur le spine et tailwhip sur le hip d’après ! Xavier Magnan, le boss de Paris 2011, se devait de répondre aux exigences du level établi depuis le début de la compétition ! Il commença donc la première ligne de son run avec un Ice Pick tel un satanique sur le Wall ultra raide de l’air de street ! La suite de son run part dans un délir sans nom en binôme avec Mathias Augry qui cherche à rentrer 540 tailwip en courbe ou encore 540 sur toute la funbox avec la hauteur et la vitesse d’un furieux ! Il se balance en Tailwhip super tendu en étant allongé de tout son long pendant que Xavier le suit en backflip turdown ! Je ne peux m’étaler plus sur cette page ! Je suis déjà en train de suer sur mon clavier tellement les runs étaient intenses ce jour-là ! Cette année, à l’issue du classement général, sur les 3 étapes, le boss de Paname est XAVIER MAGNAN pour la 2ème année consécutive ! The End... but where does the end start? All good things come to an end but all endings aren’t necessarily good. Scandalmongers who had crept into the abyss of bad faith spread their venom on the egp 18! Thankfully the day got off to a good start in this 3rd heat on the 12th and 13th May! When you know the physical and mental preparation it takes for these riders to get to this place in Paris, you know you’re in store for something huge, and in the case of this 3rd year, a final to blow your mind ! A small surprise was in store for us...an Airbag about 15 meters long and 10 meters wide ! Which gave us something to practice on, where we could do everything and anything... The Parisiens were there, with a few bretons and some dudes from Lyon who’d tagged along ! In the -16’s (“Young Guns category”) the lines in street and Bowl riding were well run in by the kids and after these three heats, we started to realize that the future was assured, especially with the likes of Cyprien Charbonnier who’s already sending whips everywhere with lots of amplitude, and Wendy Dorly is throwing flairs ! As for the category + 16, lots of riders were present ! David Lombard hit us with some crazy airs in the Bowl’s pool without thinking once that the coping is quite huge on the vert ! Turndown , lookback and efficient flow style ! Michel dos Santos got the crowd with an alley hoop flair almost two meters over the pool ! He went on to do a run mixed with technic and big balls, sending a whip transfert from one bowl to the other ! Romain Hudry made us very happy by showing us how much he’d evolved, like a bird, flying across the bowl... Antoine Mallier, the revelation of the year, showed us during his run a whole collection of really technical tricks done with amplitude and style ! Never one foot touching the ground, for a kid who’s just out of school, he already rides like a senior! Greg Masson, as a good boss should, made the difference by pulling a hand plant in the pool but also some flairs and other incredible technical combos. He ended up finishing by pulling a nose foot jam to fackie on the huge sub box ! Barry Khone was there and literally killed : 1) The Bowl and all it’s corners! 2) the street riding area, in the same fashion as “BIP BIP running away from COYOTE” would ! 3) The Funbox and the Sub Box ! Flair in the pocket of the bowl, followed by a hand plant on the spine and a tailwhip on the next hip ! Xavier Magnan aka the boss of Paris 2011 had to keep up with the level set since the beginning of the competition ! He started the first line of his run with a satanical Ice pick on the steep wall in the street riding area ! For the next part of his run he went wild with Mathias Augry who not only tried to pull a 540 whip on the quarter but also a 540 on the funbox with full speed and amplitude ! He threw a super extended superman tailwhip followed by Xavier who followed him in a turndown backflip. I can’t write any more on this page ! The runs were so intense that day that I’m sweating all over my keyboard ! This year, after the overall on the three stages, the boss of Paris is : XAVIER MAGNAN for the second year running !
