From being student leaders and proud APIA majors to being simply housemates and good friends, Patrick Canteros, Maggie Chu, David Fernandez, and Emma Shainwald are the first four students to complete their four year college residency as APIA majors in fall 2016, earning them the moniker “4-4s” from APIA director Professor Tanglao-Aguas.
Since they entered William & Mary, they have left lasting impressions and legacies in their own ways. In this section, David, Maggie, Patrick, and Emma offer their reflections on their time at William & Mary. This May, they start the next chapter of their lives the same way they joined APIA four years ago--together.

As has been the tradition in APIA, we dedicate this issue of Art & Hatsuye to our graduating seniors. I have had the absolute pleasure knowing Patrick, Maggie, David, and Emma during my three years at William & Mary. They have inspired me endlessly, and I feel so lucky to call them my role models and dear friends. Patty, Mags, David, and Emma, this one’s for you.
