Mayacama overview brochure

The valley between the Sonoma and Mayacama Mountains is virtually unchanged since the Miwok Indians named this place Sonoma, or “valley of the seven moons.” Surrounded by rolling and forested hillsides, they believed they saw the moon rise seven times each night. IT SEEMS AS IF TIME STOOD STILL HERE.

Just a short, scenic drive from the San Francisco Bay area, in the heart of Sonoma County, Mayacama enjoys an almost mythical setting. Streams, ponds, marshland, tall grasses, ancient trees, wild turkey, and an abundance of other wildlife speak to the majesty of this beloved Wine Country sanctuary. Adjacent to Mayacama, the 850-acres Shiloh Ranch Regional Park serves as an even larger buffer to the outside world.
