The Renfrew OPP issued several safe driving reminders during Canada’s Road Safety Week. Among the tips: pay extra attention to bicycles, motorcycles and pedestrians; be cautious at intersections; don’t be distracted by cell phones or
food; give large commercial vehicles the room they need; don’t speed and when conditions are poor decrease your speed below the posted limit; always wear your seatbelt; and don’t drive when under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.

A.J. Charbonneau’s fourth annual Pancake Breakfast and used Book Sale May 15 was a huge success. It was well attended, as indicated by the fact the Ar nprior Fire Department served about 380 breakfasts. The sausages were prepared by Valley Roots meats and the pancake mix was donated by East Side Mario’s. The Canadian Military was there with some of its artillery, the Arnprior Fire department displayed a fire truck and the OPP let the children and childrenat-heart sit in the police cruiser.
