Peacefully at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga with her beloved husband Bill by her side in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 21st, 2013. Anny Frieda Galvin at the age of 87 years. Dear daughter of the late Josef Braun and the late Anna Horn. Dear sister of Kurt Braun (Lilly); Eric Braun (Hannelore); Hedwig Holst (Wolfgang) and Irma Braun. Predeceased by 2 brothers: Josef and Herbert Braun as well as 2 sisters: Anneliese Braun and Erna Kriese (late Karl-Ernst). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends were invited to a funeral Mass to be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Saturday morning, August 24th at 10 o’clock. Cremation followed with interment at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior at a later date. In memory of Anny, a donation to the Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada (Ontario) P.O. 156 Rexdale, Ontario M9W 5L2 would be appreciated by her family. Art Miller of Arnprior at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of Irma (McLean) Miller. Dear father of Dean (Donnalea) Miller and Lori-Lyn (Craig) Taylor all of Arnprior. Dear grandfather of Shelby-Lyn, Brett, Brady, Raegan and Reese. Dear brother of R.A. (Marie) of St. Thomas and Jimmy (Laura) of Renfrew. Predeceased by brothers David and Stewart. KAVANAGH, FRANCES (NEE QUIGLEY) Suddenly but peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital in the early morning hours of Friday, August 23rd, 2013 following a pleasant evening at home with her daughter, Clare; Frances Kavanagh of Arnprior at the age of 86 years. Daughter of the late John Quigley and the late Annie Atkins (both of Ireland). Beloved wife of the late Patrick Desmond Kavanagh (1978). Dearly loved mother of Patrick of Carleton Place; John (Jenn) of Sault Ste Marie; Francis (Jo-Anne) of Westlock, Alberta; Mary Stanton (Ed) of Ottawa and Clare Kavanagh of Arnprior. Predeceased by a daughter, Anne (1987). Cherished and proud grandmother of Erin, Thomas, Robert, Jhen and Bill. Lovingly remembered by John and Jenn’s extended family: Tyler and Lenny. Loved sister of Thomas (Kitty) Quigley of Solihull, England, James Quigley (late Mary) of Ballyhighland, County Wexford, Ireland and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, William “Bill” (late Ann) Quigley as well as an infant brother, Tom. Frances was proud to be Irish. A devoted catholic, she lived her faith while demonstrating many fine qualities that made her beautiful and unique: Wisdom, Practicality, Stoicism, Non-Judgemental and a pure and genuine interest in those around her and the world at large. She was blessed and most thankful to have had the opportunity to take one last trip to her beloved Ireland returning to Arnprior August 13th. LOCKWOOD, William McGregor, Flight Lieutenant (Ret’d) Veteran WWII – Precision Fighter Pilot, RCAF; Japanese POW for 3 ½ years Former Owner – Woodworks of Renfrew Passed away peacefully at Renfrew Victoria Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 25, 2013, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine Wright and the late Frances Scott. Loving father of Marilyn (Brian Durocher), Sharon (Robert Laughlin) and Joanne (Douglas Reasbeck); and step-father of Ian Scott (Jane), George Scott and David Scott (Cindy). Proud grandfather of Michelle, Kristina, Timothy, Catherine, Lauren, Nathan, Stewart, Jeremy, Brendon, Dylan, Adam, and Julia; and great-grandfather of Hillary, Katelyn, Sydney and Spencer. Predeceased by his siblings Margaret Handford, Jack and Frederick. He will be fondly remembered by Joseph Kovacich, his nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. Bill enjoyed a long and full retirement pursuing his interests in Music, performing with the Valley Harmonizers, the Survivors, and the Renfrew Presbyterian Church Choir. He also enjoyed aerobatic aviation, riding his motorcycle, and spending time at the cottage with family. Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife Jackie (nee Parker). Jim was adored by his children Cindy (Leo Landry), David Racine (Andrea), Elaine (Renaud Haché), Susan (Ron Lafontaine) and Dennis Racine (Cindy). He was a wonderful Papa and loved dearly by nine grandchildren (Cassandra, Courtney, Jessica, Nathan, Christine, Noel, Mathieu, Andrew and Blair), four great-grandchildren and many grand-pups. Son of the late Ambrose and Bernice Valliquette (Renfrew). Dear brother of Osborne (Joyce), Eileen Dyer (Dennis), Leona Warren (Carl), Daryl (Jay), Ez (Jane), Gerry (Brenda) and predeceased by two brothers Delbert (surviving wife Kay) and Stanley (late Ginny). Brother in law of Raymond Parker (Joan), Melvin Parker (Doris), Judy (Pat Tremblay) and predeceased by Roberta and Carl Gagnon and Gerry Parker. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Jim touched the lives of many with laughter, song and humour. He had a nickname for many and was always happy to go to Renfrew to be with his family. He lived a good life and will be missed by all who knew him. Passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 24th, 2013 in her 82nd year. Raised in Ancaster, Ontario, she was the youngest daughter of the late Austin and Madge Donovan. Her greatest joy in life was the love and support she received from her family. Dorothy leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 55 years, John; her children: Gary (Jayne), Sharon Holzman (Bill) and Paul. She most enjoyed spending time at the cottages in Rhoddy’s Bay with her three wonderful grandsons: Elliot, Connor and Casey. She was their greatest cheerleader and always made them feel so special. Predeceased by her two sisters that she loved so dearly: Marjorie Farrell and Evelyn McKenzie and also her brothers-in-law: Jack McKenzie, Edmund Coady and Charles Coady; sisters-in-law: Ruth Kellogg and Betty Herrick. Survived by her brother in-law David Farrell and sister in-law Mardi Coady. Fondly remembered by 25 nieces and nephews and their families. The Coady family deeply thanks Gail Gavan and Dorothy’s many friends who remained by her side during the last few months.
