Seven face charges in Edey Street assault Arnprior OPP have charged three men and two teenagers in relation to a high profile assault at a house party that left an Edey Street man hospitalized with serious injuries. As well, arrest warrants have been issued for two other people suspected of being involved in the June 11 attack. Police at the time reported they responded to a fight in progress involving about 40 people from two separate parties on Edey Street.

A 63-year-old homeowner was assaulted and suffered serious injuries requiring hospitalization. A second Arnprior man also required hospital treatment for non life-threatening injuries. During the altercation two baseball bats and a smashed glass bottle were brought to the fight, police report. Renfrew OPP charge Fitzroy Harbour man with sexual assault RENFREW OPP On July 12 Const. Lisa Nicholas began an investigation after receiving information on a possible sexual assault which had occurred two weeks previous. The incident reported occurred at a home in McNabBraeside Township. Upon the conclusion of the investigation a 23-year-old Fitzroy Harbour man was charged with sexual assault, and released on a recognizance following a bail hearing. County Crime Unit, officers have charged Christopher Joseph Tremblay, 21, of Arnprior with aggravated assault. He remains in custody. The other four people charged have been released and order to appear in court. Shane Bernard Laundrie, 24, of Arnprior has been charged with causing a disturbance, mischief and breach of probation. Kevin Patrick Trahan, 18, of Arnprior has been charged with mischief and causing a disturbance. Two 17-year-old Arnprior males also face charges. One is charged with mischief and causing a disturbance and the other with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief, causing a disturbance and four counts of failing to comply with probation order. The identity of both are protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Arrest warrants have been issued for Alex Kingsbury and Jessica Wilson, both of Ottawa. Over the weekend of July 7 - July 10 a Break and Enter occurred at an old farm on Sammon Rd. near Constant Lake. An ATV, a log splitter and a chain saw were stolen. A cordless saw was used to cut a gate and gain access to the farm. It is believed the suspect(s) attended in a pick up truck in which the ATV was loaded and the log splitter was then towed behind by hitch. The ATV is described as 1998 Yamaha Grizzly, Ont Licence 67BP9, a blue Wallingsteen wood splitter 5.5 hp engine, and a red Johnsered 630 chainsaw with 20 inch chain and bar. MORE CHARGES Tremblay also faces several charges after two neighbouring homeowners were assaulted July 11. Arnprior OPP officers Ken Rusaw and Raul Pasta responded to two complaints of alleged assaults in progress at two Daniel Street locations. The call indicated a 21-year-old Arnprior man had forced his way inside a house and assaulted the homeowner. He then went to the home next door, allegedly breaking in and starting a physical altercation with the occupants. He also allegedly assaulted another male occupant of the residence with a weapon, say police. Tremblay was arrested and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, assault, assault with a weapon, breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence and criminal harassment.
