Fall in love with autumn beauty and hair T
he fashion week shows have come and gone, and now the beauty gurus have decided what this means for autumn trends in hair and makeup. The results are an eclectic range, from bold statements that can’t help but be noticed, to more muted styles that flatter the face.
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY Bold and bright seems to be a theme for autumn, but if that’s not to your style, never fear. Makeup artist Pat McGrath for Tommy Hilfiger at London Fashion Week gave models a natural, pared down look. The trick, he told online beauty magazine Allure, is to mix primer with your foundation for a sheer look and glowing skin. For those who prefer to make heads turn, rhinestones around
the cheekbones and eyes are set to be popular this season, as well as the ‘punk eyeshadow’ look – which is basically a wide coverage of bright eyeshadow, as per the image above left.
HAIR Once again, it’s an eclectic range of styles that are predicted to be popular. Vibrant hairclips, clip-in hair extensions in bright colours, and solitary streaks of silver and pastels are within the more out-there styles for hair. The bob is also making a comeback, either as an ear-length, straight lob, or jaw-length with lots of added texture. For colours, it’s silver grey and a red, so deep it’s almost brunette, that will keep your hair on-trend.
