If you have a cavity, you’ll know it. “Tooth decay typically doesn’t manifest symptoms until it’s fairly severe,” Dr. Cody said. “When decay is advanced, it causes pain because of damaged tooth nerve. The best way to make sure it never gets to that point is to check in with us, every six months. Tooth sensitivity equals tooth decay. “Not necessary,” said Dr. John. “Sensitivity can be caused by gum recession or teeth hypersensitivity. Brushing the wrong way can wear away the enamel of your teeth exposing nerves. Or a broken or cracked tooth can cause sensitivity.
