At the time of writing we have just returned following our Christmas break, and we are absolutely delighted to see the opening of our new two classroom building located next to the Junior playground for our Year 5s, Earhart and Turing children. This new facility is another fantastic addition to the school with new technology, toilets, kitchen facilities and fantastic views of the orchard.

We are in our fifth successful year of GCSE examinations, and the final stage of our development to Sixth Form is now underway and will be completed this Summer. We are really proud of our school which brings a mix of traditional areas steeped in history for so many of you, as well as modern, bright and spacious teaching spaces. We are so fortunate to be based on such a large, open and beautiful green site that the children and staff can enjoy. Our specialist subject teachers are well established and eager to take our students through to Sixth Form, and the students are equally excited having been so involved in this new development for their higher education.

We have also had the most fantastic artwork set up on one of our main stairways to our Art and Photography Department created by our Head Art and Photography, Miss Stacey Smith. The artwork features artists, filmmakers and product designers to inspire our students.

We have had a visit from a Development Chef at Taylor Shaw, Etonbury contract caterers, to look at our break and lunch menus, consider feedback from our student focus group and support the school kitchen team to develop their skills. The kitchen team do an excellent job of listening to our students, understanding their needs and making sure there is always something that the children can eat. Mrs Brahmachari-Limb, Head of Performing Arts, is now finalising the team for the Summer Term performance ‘Culture Festival’ and the children are looking forward to the trips and events coming up for the rest of the year. Our Juniors are looking forward to being part of the Young Voices Choir at the 02 and their trip to the Duxford Air Museum. Our Secondary students are working with the University of Oxford, involved in a mock court trial and watching a theatrical performance of a Christmas Carol.

We are continuing to show prospective parents/carers and students (including Sixth Form entry Sept 23) around our school, and we welcome any of you from our community to get in touch if you wish to see our new facilities. We love hearing your stories of your time here.
