Jose Siao Ling is a member of the UAP COF since 1996 to be conferred LIKHA, the UAP Likha Award and Gold Medal during the Honor Dinner on April 21, 2022.

In highest regard for his exemplary adherence to the Architects’ Code of Ethics with an impeccable degree of integrity, honesty, and diligence in the practice of the architecture profession, Architect Jose Siao Ling will be bestowed The United Architects of the Philippines highest award: The UAP Likha Award and Gold Medal during the Honor Dinner of the UAP 47th National Convention on April 21, 2022 at the SMX Convention Center.

He is distinguished by the United Architects of the Philippines through the nomination of UAP Manila Metro Chapter and recommendations of the UAP College of Fellows and the Jury of Fellows for his unquestionable devotion to what is right, fair, just, honorable, which is well known in the industry and the society, his colleagues, associates, subordinates, contractors, clients and the general public as gathered from exemplary testaments of his practice as an architect from peers and notable men and women of the industry, as well as from both governmental and nongovernmental organizations and agencies validating the aforementioned attributes through testimonials and citations. Architect Jose Siao Ling served the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), as an ordinary member with extraordinary contributions for the upliftment of the profession, the professional, the professional product, and the professional organization, by spearheading the acquisition of the real estate property, the construction management of the building, from start to completion of the Home of the Filipino Architects, The UAP National Headquarters Building.

Architect Jose Siao Ling’s competence, character, and credibility was recognized by the awardgiving bodies of the schools he attended: he was an Alumni Awardee during its 60th Founding Anniversary in 2010 and a SparhTan Awardee in 2015 of the Grace Christian High School; He was also awarded as one of the TEN Outstanding Model Alumni (TOMA) Award of Aquinas School in 2015; he is the recipient of University of Santo Tomas THE OUTSTANDING TOMASIAN ALUMNI (TOTAL) awardee in Architecture in 2007; and one of the 400 Outstanding Alumni for UST Quadri Centennial in 2011. He was awarded the OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

2004 in the field of ARCHITECTURE by the PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION (PRC), the agency regulating the practice of all Filipino professionals. He is one of the first twelve (12) registered APEC Architects in 2006 and one of the first forty (40) registered ASEAN Architects in 2014.

Jose Siao Ling and Ana S. Mangalino Ling, established Jose Siao Ling and Associates in 1983. He is recognized for his selfless endeavor for the advancement of the profession by providing scholarships for deserving students of Architecture and through mentorship of aspirants, students, young professionals; generous sharing of knowledge and experiences to peers through public lectures and talks in universities and colleges which includes among others, Aquinas School, Grace Christian College, the University of Santo Tomas, Far Eastern University, Central Colleges of the Philippines, National University and in many UAP Chapter events and Balangkasan fora; and for serving as Jury to several architecture school student theses defenses and served as panel of judges in the prestigious Metrobank Arts and Design Excellence (MADE) Architecture Competition;

He generously supported and rendered tireless effort to nurture the sustainability of human and natural development; notably during the recent pandemic with the following acts: personally monitoring and taking care of the health concerns of his staff and their immediate families, extending help and support to the frontliners on the street and in the healthcare facilities by providing them with protective essentials and necessities; contributing to feeding programs; extending pro-bono design and consultancy assistance to community and religious projects; initiating company CSR activities to revitalize the natural environment like tree planting, coastal clean-ups, and freeing of baby turtles;

His firm Jose Siao Ling and Associates established with his wife Architect Ana S. Mangalino Ling in 1983, has evolved from a partnership firm to become a family corporation in 2018, on the occasion of the 35th founding anniversary. Now known as JSLA Architects, Architects Jose and Ana Ling co-manages the firm their six children: Joan Adda (Administration Department), Jonn Aldo (Construction Coordination Department), Jesi Alec (Design Department), Jeni Alys (Production Department) Joel Aron (Special Assistant), and Jaye Anjo (Animation and BIM).

To date, the firm has studied close to 2,000 projects, has completed well over 700 projects, built up more than 50 design project capabilities and has successfully delivered the most number of malls of SM, leads in the design of office buildings and BPO buildings, (all over Metro Manila, Baguio, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Davao), projects encompassing residential, business and commercial, institutional-medical and laboratories, hospitality, educational, assembly- religious, sports, cultural and multi-purpose and multi-use complexes, transportation for air, water and land travel, city and urban development planning.
