During the afternoon hours on Monday, April 8, two-thirds of Arkansas will be in the path of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse, and all of Arkansas will experience at least a 94 percent eclipse of the sun.

Arkansas has only been in the path of totality for an eclipse two other times in its history - in 1834 and in 1918. As such, several thousand out-of-state visitors – maybe over 200,00, according to ArDOT – are expected for the event, in addition to the 1,771,000 Arkansans who already live within the path of totality.
