Kenneth Darrin Ingle Bridges, 55, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, of cancer. Bridges, who was known to friends as “Kenny Wayne”, worked for more than 30 years at the Arkansas DemocratGazette. He was a pre-press worker, served as third-shift supervisor and also built classified advertising pages. In addition to his work at the newspaper, Bridges volunteered with the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network and the Our Lady of Holy Souls Care Team. He established a Sunday School class for Pre-K children at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, and he was a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. Bridges is survived by his husband, Douglas Bridges; daughter, Macy Bridges; son, Michael Bridges; his mother, Alice “Dee” Ingle; and a sister, Jackie Ingle of Jacksonville. No services were scheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church or to CARTI. Randal Seyler, who for the last three years has been managing editor for the Jonesboro Sun, has been named the new editor of another Paxton Media Group newspaper, The Courier in Russellville. He has also been editor of two newspapers in New Mexico. Seyler is a member of the Kiwanis Club and he has been an instructor in karate and tai chi. “To me, every story is important, and I want to tell as many stories as I can,” Seyler was quoted as saying. “Journalism isn’t just reporting on bad things, but it’s also sharing the good things that are being done. I look forward to meeting everyone.”
—30— Sandra Tennyson Sandra Diane Tennyson, 64, of Columbia, Missouri, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, surrounded by her family. She was formerly of Blytheville. Along with her husband, David Tennyson, she previously owned several newspapers in northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel, among them the Osceola Times and the Blytheville Courier-News. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, David; three sons, Jeff, Kit and Zach Tennyson, and two granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Humane Society of Columbia, Missouri. Plans for a memorial service will be spread to friends and family in the coming days. 4
