Furniture Shop Featuring Contemporary Carl Hansen & Son Designs Opens in Scottsdale Architect Robert Moric, owner of Phoenix area bulthaup kitchen design shop, is expanding high-end mid-century modern and contemporary home design with a new Carl Hansen & Son furniture store. The retail venue, which introduces the entire Carl Hansen & Son collection, also features lighting accessories and a handpicked selection of home products by other top designers. The furniture, which is comprised of nearly a century of design history, only recently emerged in North America. According to a press release, the 1,500 square foot shop is designed as an elegant yet understated contemporary living space to help buyers visualize actual living areas. “Carl Hansen & Son products offer the greatest quality as well as unparalleled beauty—but are not as well known in North America as they are abroad,” says Moric. Octane Raceway Opens at Scottsdale Pavilions This spring, Phoenix-based Octane Raceway will move to a bigger and better location at the Scottsdale Pavilions. The new 65,000 square foot facility will feature the nation’s only full-time indoor and outdoor track. Part of the improvements include new state-ofthe-art high-speed electric karts that travel up to 45 miles per hour. “The new location in the Pavilions is a fresh and more upscale version of Octane Raceway’s proven karting entertainment concept,” says company president Scott Sanders. “The new, central location makes Octane raceway more accessible to many people in the Valley.” Octane Raceway, which recently hosted the Indoor World Kart Championship, is known as a world class and sophisticated racing facility that hosts both competitive and recreational kart racers.
