SEPTEMBER 2017 Students go on Ghana service and immersion trip Eleven Hoban students, led by Father Mike Ausperk and Mr. Jason Dzik, went on a service and immersion experience in Ghana from Aug. 12-22. While in West Africa, the group helped with landscaping and other finishing touches at the new Saint Brother André High School, opening in September to 10th graders. The new school is a ministry of the Midwest Province of the Brothers of Holy Cross. The group toured Ghanaian cultural sites and experienced local customs. The students were Gracie Bagdon, Michael Davies, Emily Day, Delaney Erks, John Frola, Mary Gutbrod, Elizabeth Hillegas, Claire Penney, Alison Ritenour, Megan Sutterluety and Wendy Weng. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced that six seniors from Hoban—Luke Armao, Jack Bahmer, Joshua Parisi, Michael Rinaldi, Alison Ritenour and Victor Vogt—have been named semifinalists in the scholarship
