Since 2004, the Bernard Family and the Ralph L. & Florence A. Bernard Foundation have annually shared their friendship and generosity with an Extravaganza Challenge Scholarship Match. This challenge originated with Mr. Ralph L. Bernard Sr. who passed away in 2009 at the age of 94. His children, Ralph Bernard Jr. ’62 and Mrs. Regina Dain, grandchildren Adam Bernard and Angie Craig, and the Foundation have continued this legacy of supporting Catholic education in the Akron area. The Bernard Family, with the support of generous Extravaganza guests, has raised $1,684,773 for student financial assistance over the past 18 years.

This year, the Bernard Family has generously agreed to MATCH DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR ANY AMOUNT UP TO $75,000 donated to the Extravaganza Scholarship Challenge. We sincerely appreciate their philanthropic commitment to Archbishop Hoban High School and Catholic education. Please consider making a gift today. 1. An evening with John Daly at Hoban’s Golf Simulator

Golf party for 10 with guest of honor PGA Tour champion John Daly! You and your friends will enjoy a catered dinner from Rockne’s in Hoban’s Terry Nolan ’65 Golf Learning Center on July 5, 2022. The 2,400 square-foot building houses two Trackman golf simulators and a putting and chipping area. Get tips from John as you work to improve your game while having fun with friends!

John is known in the golfing community for his driving distance off the tee, earning him the nickname “Long John,” his free-wheeling attitude and his many charitable and business ventures.
