W E LC O M E Thank you for joining the inaugural Power of a Hero event for the East Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross. Your participation means a lot to us, and we hope that you find this event inspiring. This past 13 months will be a time that none of us will ever forget. However, through all the lockdowns, viral surges, anguish and loss, there has always been a beacon of hope that we will survive: the power of the human spirit and willingness to sacrifice in order to help others. That is what this event is all about, and the American Red Cross is proud to be one of the mechanisms to share this beacon. From the start of this pandemic, the American Red Cross knew that its core mission had to continue, no matter the circumstances. I am proud of how our volunteers, supporters, donors and staff stood tall against sometimes impossible odds to ensure that individuals and entire communities were taken care of at often-times, the worst moments of their lives. Whether making sure that hospitals had the right blood at the right time or sheltering hundreds at a time after a disaster, the Red Cross kept on. The only way we could do this was with the support of local communities. With that thought, I hope you take some time to either check out and bid on some of the auction packages or make a direct donation to the American Red Cross mission.
