Judy has personally developed a computer program that keeps pedigree, strain, foaling date, show wins, color, ownership, breeder, import/export, and country for all of our horses and client horses — and a complete progeny list with all the same information. Judy input this information herself over the years. But the most valuable tool in my office is the notebook Judy made for me that has all that information categorized by family. The family is identified by the horse that contributes the core qualities that Judy wants to strengthen or replicate in future breeding. Most often these are key mares, but some are stallions. “Rare” is not valuable because it’s rare — only the special producers are given value in her program. If someone asks me about buying a particular horse, I can see if Judy has enough of that family to back it up. Judy’s goal is to keep several daughters of the best producing mares before selling any offspring. By studying the families, new breeders can learn from Judy’s experience. The first consideration in a breeding decision is conformation, but studying the past history of the mare and her entire family is integral to making that all-important breeding decision.
The 2009 mare Nafilas Princess RCA (The Sequel RCA x Binte Nafila RCA), owned by Arabians Ltd., is in foal to *Mishaal HP.

Judy has a core group of approximately 30 broodmares. Our clients and Affiliate farms are central to our breeding family. We share bloodlines and work together to preserve the Egyptian Arabian horse — altogether about 95 mares that are actively in production, each season — so we have an average of 46 fillies and 46 colts born each year. We are the largest Egyptian Arabian breeding program in North America, so it starts to put into perspective how small the worldwide population of straight Egyptians really is. Judy’s original mares come from programs from all around the globe. The Sirbaskus and longtime friends and mentors, David and Marion Gardner, imported several small groups in the early 1980s that are still a huge part of our collective success. Mares came from Germany and Babolna, including *Bahila, dam of The Minstril, and *Masira, who gave us Maali RCA by Ruminaja Ali. The tall, exotic offspring from that family are prolific producers of both great stallions and mares. Maali’s last filly by *Mishaal, Maali Masira RCA, is also with Ms. Hayek, and her last colt by the same stallion, Mishaali RCA, is in Qatar. Also, early in our program’s history, Judy and David purchased three pregnant mares with fillies by their sides from Peter and Jenny Pond of Australia; today they are influencing breeding programs
