ARABIAN/HALF-ARABIAN/ANGLO-ARABIAN FREESTYLE REINING JTR 18 & UNDER EXHIBITION CLASS Horse and rider teams put a new spin on a traditional crowd pleaser and add exciting costumes and themes to the traditionally fast paced reining maneuvers. This western style class highlights the agility and willingness of these horses to be guided by their riders, demonstrating difficult movements necessary in working cattle. The quick spins, straight sliding stops and lead changes, all controlled by the rider, are assessed by the judges maneuver by maneuver. All exhibitors start with a base score of 70. Then, credits or penalties are added or subtracted for each of seven or eight maneuvers as horse and rider go through the pattern. Riders in addition to the Top 10, Reserve Champion, and Champion awards. The horses must stay on course or they receive a score of zero. Judging is based on smoothness, finesse, quickness, attitude and authority. Speed of the horse raises the difficulty level, and judges will credit horses that can do the job well while exhibiting speed. This class is a jackpot class with the entire entry fee placed in the jackpot. Payback is as follows: 35 percent to Champion, 25 percent to Reserve Champion, 5 percent to each of the remaining horses.
