Organisation GCARD - A political (high level) event on Day 1 - A ÂŤ dialog Âť between stakeholders during days 2-4 Day 2 : Priorities emerging from the regional consultations Day 3 : Opening Science: new objects, new parterships, new LOC input with approaches, new scientists support from Agropolis Fondation Day 4 : Action Plan for the Global ARD System - Two permanent exhibitions: Development challenges in the Mediterranean subregion Training and Capacity Building - Others (optional) April 1st : lab visits in Montpellier preceding week : ancillary meetings/conferences


Day 3 suggested program WG « open science » : innovative research (content and/or operating mode), incl. research at the interface between groups of disciplines and between different sorts of knowledges. WG « participatory approaches » : agreement on their need, discussion around obstacles and constrains (evaluation criteria, financial incentives). WG « young scientists » : dialog North-South on innovation and integration in science. What should an ARD scientist look like in 2020?


Journée franco-européenne WG « Foresight » : several reports & studies available; where do they converge? Diverge (including on methods)? Can we design a common vision on what has to be done from these studies? WG « Emerging Economies » : expectations and possible roles of emerging economies in the global action plan, especially through South-South collaborations.


Exhibitions Mediterranean Sea : thematic – illustration of major global challenges (water, food, biodiversity, land use, emerging diseases, climate change, etc.) through concrete examples in the Mediterranean subregion. Training and Capacity Building : European TCB (tools & content) illlustrated by examples presented by students from the South - multi-partnership projects - daily events (dialogs with students)

Main funding support, so far, has been given by the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Council, and by Agropolis Fondation. The LOC currently works on complementary fund raising to support all activities presented in this slideshow.
