As we follow the Lord’s leading way Tania Grace Assistant Principal - Mission 2018 - Present In our current world full of online services and
minimal human interaction, does faith change? The gap between lockdowns has definitely seen a decrease in church attendance which has only sped up the already declining numbers of regular church goers. In turn, with the shortage of priests, parishes are being combined and turned into hubs. Again I ask, does faith change? Faith is the belief in the intangible and unexplainable, finding answers to life’s biggest questions. Why are we here? How were we created? What happens when we die? Why do we suffer? Is there an ultimate reality? Faith provides us with comfort and helps give meaning and security in our lives. So in reality, faith has not changed, the way in which we enact or practise our faith has. Mass has long been known as the main form of faith expression in Catholicism. It was also the way many people in the 1950s to 1970s socialised. Many people of that era would recall the women’s/men’s groups, the sport clubs, bingo nights, dinner dances and many more events that were coordinated through the parish community.
