Driven by the all-embracing vision of its artistic directors, Well and Good’s Lisa Martin and Steve Ferrera, 52 McCaul is much more than a gallery—it’s a groundbreaking endeavour to present a beautiful space for big ideas and multifaceted creative expression. 52 McCaul draws on the individual strengths of numerous artists and performers from across mediums to create a culturally immersive experience all under one roof. Whether it is nurturing beginnings or celebrating worlds of experience, 52 McCaul is dedicated to showcasing unique voices, provocative visuals and exceptionally-curated cultural programming in the life and heart of downtown. The space is a creative hub broadcasting new perspectives from one of Toronto’s most inspiring and extraordinary neighbourhood landscapes, steps from famed Queen Street West, to Canada’s homegrown art scene and beyond.

At its most basic, 52 McCaul is a place of collaboration for local and international contemporary art and culture: a 2000 sq/ft community centre of sorts. Our mandate is to support and nurture Toronto’s incredible art scene while broadcasting our talent globally. This new space is a social experiment between local artists, curators, and the community at large.

Located in the heart of the city’s cultural district, this multi-use space features a curated boutique and compelling programming in a gallery setting. Believing that Toronto doesn’t need just another art gallery, 52 looks to engage new audiences, break down barriers and expand how people experience art and culture.

Steve Ferrara and Lisa Martin are allies in the world of Art and in the art of life. These artful enigmas have combined background in business, psychology, and design as well as a lifetime of professional experience in industries as farranging as music, fashion, marketing and teaching. The two were brought together by their shared belief that an organization built on passion for art, collaboration by artists and an initiative to engage the local community could not only thrive, but also reach like-minds across the globe.

52 McCaul seeks to connect individuals though community values recognizing that Art is a collaborative experience to be shared and communicated, and that all mediums, from visual art, music and performance, to design, popular culture and philosophical thought should radically foster cultural evolution.
