ATTENTION ALL BARREL RACERS!

Competitors, it is the responsibility of the last 2 barrel racing competitors in that section to mark the barrel course, at least 1hr prior to the 1st section or you will be fined $50 each on the 1st occasion. if there is a 2nd occasion that competitors do not fulfil this responsibility the fine will increase to $100. Day members excluded.

Competitors, it is your responsibility to know who you are roping with and what head of stock you are to compete on BEFORE you walk into the arena to make your run Please ensure you check the draws posted at the secretary’s box on the day Team ropers, please ensure you have your partners organised and know which head of stock you are running on with each partner

Animal Welfare

Its

timely to remind all competitors, committees, and stock contractors about their responsibilities around animal welfare and strictly following codes of practice

Our sport is constantly scrutinised so we must always be on the fore front Jason Bode of Queensland Biosecurity has recently been in contact with our Board of Directors to remind APRA of our responsibilities and raised concern over some practices that are not acceptable His concerns were tail twisting of timed event cattle He urged APRA to make sure that anyone involved in helping with running cattle at a rodeo, whether it be contractors, competitors helping out or committee volunteers, be aware that it is not acceptable to twist the tails of livestock at any time

Competitors it’s your sport – if you witness this happening, please immediately notify the judge and the Director of that event to act immediately!
