Appian Customer Nokia Siemens Networks to Keynote Forrester Business Process Forum 2011

Take

BPM Expert Nick Deacon to Outline "Empowering the Customer Through Process Improvement"

Press Releases RESTON, Va.—September 14, 2011— Appian, the global innovator in enterprise and cloud-based business process management (BPM) software, today announced that Nick Deacon, Global Head of Business Process Management at Appian customer Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) will deliver a Keynote presentation at the Forrester Research Business Process Forum 2011. The theme of the event, being held September 22-23, 2011 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston, MA, is “The New World of Customer Engagement.” At 1:45pm on Day One of the conference, Mr. Deacon will discuss “Empowering the Customer Through Process Improvement and BPM.” In the industrial age, companies sought to control customers’ attitudes and behaviors to suit the organization’s needs: Customers were simply told to “Buy our brand” and encouraged to interact with the company in ways that were easy and cost-efficient — for the company. But organizations need to change their attitudes and approaches if they’re to succeed in today’s age of social information. Nokia Siemens Networks tries to attract and retain customers not by controlling, influencing, or persuading them but by helping them — repositioning the company’s knowledge, skills, and resources so that they become a tool of empowerment in the customer’s hands. This Keynote session will discuss how NSN: Developed a process improvement methodology that specifies how to measure customer interactions Implemented fast, agile Appian BPM solutions to power its end-to-end value chain Deploys BPM on a global basis through a BPM center of excellence that is outside-in-focused David Carpenter, Director of BPM at Appian customer Archstone will also speak at the conference during an exclusive VIP lunch session at 12:30pm on Day One. After an introduction by Forrester analyst Clay Richardson, Mr. Carpenter will discuss “Extending BPM in the Mobile Age.” He will illustrate BPM's vital role in empowering front-line employees to deliver customer service excellence, will also talk about Archstone's move into the new frontier of Mobile BPM.
