If 93 year old Louise Yusko, formerly of Paris, had a bucket-list, achieving membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) would certainly be on it. Louise started her family research over 30 years ago, working with the Paris DAR Chapter. Because life creates many detours, she was never able to completely close some gaps in her McKay lineage. Three years ago, Louise’s sister, Lois Davis of Paris, resurrected the file with the hope that DAR membership could be achieved during Louise’s lifetime. She later turned the file over to Louise’s daughter, Donna Vaught of Columbia. Marlene Willick of the Columbian DAR Chapter was instrumental in getting Louise to the finish line so she could achieve her life-time goal. Due to her age and The

home on July 11, 2014 to perform the induction ceremony.

The Perry Christian Church worship hour of July 13 began with singing “There’s Something About That Name”. Nancy Seelow gave the call to worship. Our speaker was John Schutte. John’s father, Donald Schutte is a Timothy from our church. Nancy welcomed John’s parents, grandparents (Bill and Irene Parks, Neal and Margie Schutte) and a host of relations present to lend their support. A list of items still needed for VBS, ( 6-8 p.m., July 20-24), was presented, A stewardship meeting will be held after church service next Sunday. Our pastor for next Sunday will be Rev. Jim Walker. “All In All” was the praise song. The prayer hymn was “Cleanse Me”. Our concerns include Donald Broyles, Judy Biggers, Lois Friday and Phil Gilmore. Our sympathy is for the families of JD Whelan and Jim Moomaw. The response was “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” Nancy gave the invitation to share the Lord’s Supper. Elders were Greg Harrison and Arlen Provancha. Deacons were Glenna Johnson, Nancy Seelow, Warren Hetrick and Wyatt Lewellen. Arlen provided the special music by singing “The Lord’s Prayer. Cheri accompanied him. Jeannie Gay supplied the Children’s Moment by telling the ‘ parable of the sowers’. Listening and learning about God is necessary for christian growth like good soil is for plants to grow. The parable in Matthew 13:1-9 was read by John DiMaria. John Schutte began his message by giving background on the missions he has done. Last summer he was in Thailand and he has just recently returned from the small country of Kyrgyzstan. He is now on his way to a mission at the University of Los Angeles in California. Thailand is mostly Budda while Kyrgzstan is Muslim. His message for both religions and including Christianity is “forgiveness”. We are certain that John will be making a difference with this message and send him with our prayers. The invitation hymn was “When We All Get to Heaven”. Nancy offered the benediction and the service closed by singing “Lord, Dismiss Us With Your Blessing”
